Cuisinart CTG-22-GPT Garlic Press, Aqua

Feels solid and well made like it will last. Easy to use and does what its supposed to. A little hard to clean though but so was my old one.

I wanted a really good garlic press -- one I could really squeeze hard and do a lot of cloves. This one is definitely that, but what I didn't realize was how much of the garlic would end up squeezing around the sides and into cracks. I have to keep opening and scraping the extra garlic back into the holder and squeeze again, sometimes three times. What it produces is perfectly pressed garlic so I will keep using this one and not try to find another but I will keep one eye open for other possibilities. One other failure is the cracks around the sides of the center basket with the small holes. The garlic will get stuck down in the cracks and it is very hard to clean. I don't understand why they didn't make the basket as a single unit without folded together sections with cracks between.

I really like that the plastic handles are made from ocean recycled plastic. I like that it’s easy to clean because of the 3 chamber design. I would advise to only press one clove at a time as the excess garlic skin lies flat and needs to be scraped out with a knife after pressing. Very sturdy design. Quite pleased with this purchase

It does the job - it presses the garlic, but, I can’t figured out why it swivels like that. There is no practical reason for it. You can only press garlic one way, so what is the idea behind this mechanical design? I’m genuinely curious!But yea, cleaning this thing is a pain.

I love the small Mexican Key Limes and this juices halved limes easily. Could even be used for garlic..I guess.

It is a pretty good press for ricing a garlic clove. It has to be peeled and trimmed first and it really works on only one clove at a time. The largest problem is getting it clean. It does not come apart or hinge on the plate so it has to be brushed with a stiff brush .*** If I had 25 or so garlic cloves to rice and bought the pre cleaned cloves, it would be a good tool. *** It would save time and elbow grease. With only a few to do, it is easier to use a good knife or microplane.I do love Cuisinart tools and appliances. I'll bet it is designed for mass pressing and I just need to do 3 or 4 at a time.
