This old fashioned design is still better than any other modern plastic design
This old fashioned design is still better than any other modern plastic design. The only drawback is that the wire handle is not as thick as they used to be. So, the handle feels a little flimsy. Wish they would go back to using the thicker wire for the handle. Then they could market it as a premium product.

Order one for every fly you plan to kill.
After numerous plastic fly swatters have shattered with just moderate use, I thought back to the olden days and figured the metal fly swatter of my youth would be just the thing. These are not those. The wire handle is so thin/weak that it will bend with every swat. Also, I think the giant strip of paper edging around the swatter part takes away from the stealthy mesh and gives the flies more time to escape. These are so close to the right idea, they just need a beefier wire handle and weave the edges of the mesh instead of the dumb paper. It's certainly possible to produce a decent fly swatter, this just isn't it.

WAY BETTER THAN PLASTIC SWATTERS
These are fly swatter. Not anything life changing or even memorable. BUT, When you are being over run by FLIES you need something that works to get rid of them. I didn't even own a fly swatter when all of a sudden, I was inundated by hundreds of flies. I used a rolled up newspaper which works sorta but then I got these flyswatters. THEY WORK so good. I've used those plastic things and frankly, I hate plastic everything. I think they work so much better because they are lighter than plastic, they are faster because of the mesh. In just a few minutes, I have slaughtered many flies. The only down side is having to clean up the carcasses. YUCK. Don't buy plastic! Buy these first. They work.

Metal mesh makes all the difference.
This lets you actually swat at flys and Wasps in the air. Those plastic swatters require you to have a hard surface for you to nail the bug. This one lets you get them in mid flight and will kill them. I used one at my grandfather’s house and thought that Wasp was only stunned, upon closer examination it was dead. I immediately checked Amazon and bought these for our back yard. If you live in South Central Texas you know Wasps, and if you want them gone, this thing is a game changer.

Cheap quality; ineffective.
I purchased this product based on some of the reviews. But when I received it, I was thoroughly disappointed. When you smack a surface with it, the swatter part (which is a lightweight screen) doesnt contact with the wall. The base of the screen by the handle does. So your prey gets clean away unhurt. I returned my purchase. I did find the company easy to work with.

actually swats flies!
Previously purchased cheapo plastic chinese swatters. they are heavy and because there is no mesh they push the air in front which gives the fly a push to get out of the way. These are mesh and the fly actually gets hit! Really like this - only wish they were a tad stronger handles - and maybe 2-4" longer too.

Junk - Do not buy this
This flyswatter is flimsy and ineffective. This is the perfect internet sale. (It’s the only way it sells.). You’d never buy this if you picked it up , held it in your hand and looked at it in person. The wire handle bends in your hand as does the swatter when you use it.I wanted an “old fashioned” wire flyswatter because the plastic one wasn’t holding up the pieces of plastic were breaking and flying off and the swatter has holes big enough that the flies can slip through.I thought the wire swatted was the answer, but this one was less effective and more useless than the plastic one. Do not buy this.

The mesh head flew off and the handle bends!
These are flimsy flyswatters. Given the price and what I thought was sturdy material, I had high hopes. This is a case in which I wish I read the reviews! The mesh head doesn’t keep its shape making it difficult to swat the target but when the head flew off, I gave up. They are going back. Any suggestions for good swatters?
