The Collected Writings (so far) of Rick Wormeli Perfect Paperback – January 1, 2013

Rick Wormeli is a constant source of inspiration! Each summer I read or reread something by him to remind myself of all the good things that will help my students when I return back to school. This book is the culmination of all the great stuff I have read by him and witnessed at his workshops. He knows so well the adolescent mind and what works for it. I have given his books as gifts to student teachers to use as guides in their years as facilitators in learning. I highly recommend this one!

It was a forced read for a college course. If it was my own choice I would not have picked up this text as it is not in my wheelhouse for books I would normally read. However now that I have finished it, I found that many of my own ideas clashed with Mr. Wormeli and has made me think and grow in my own professional abilities.

As teachers, we read and read and read. Just when you think everything you read is simply affirming what you know and practice, you find a gem. For me, Rick Wormeli's Collected Writings fit perfectly into my world of teaching.I especially appreciate his comments about how teachers tend to think they have been there, done that (my words), without realizing that every time we start anew with a trend, we are building on new knowledge. Fascinating.

I have heard Rick Wormeli speak numerous times and each time I gain from his wisdom and years of experience. This book gives me the opportunity to "hear" Rick again and again, whenever I have a few extra moments. I already used what I've learned in this book for professional development at my school.

Rick writes as he talks and what he writes is some of the most valuable suggestions I have read for middle school teachers.

Great read! Using in a book study group for Middle School teachers and has provided lots of insightful ideas in working with today's students. Encourages hands on , interactive learning!
