The art-work pictured is basically good but the printing and quality of the paper is not the best and lets his work down. He is a good, interesting artist but not good at writing about what and how he does it.

Lots of great info for painters.

All of Charles’ books not only helped me to become proficient at this medium and with my art, in general. They also help me to be a good instructor. All of my students have fallen in love with his books, too and love doing the demos in them. They understand color mixing, composition and the importance of a limited palette. Was heartbroken when heard of his passing a few years ago. He is the reason I wanted to become a watercolorist. His instructions within the pages and the beautiful paintings are so helpful and inspiring!
