AMD Ryzen 5 5600G is an excellent value for money proposition. For those who want good performance at lower price point it does not get better than this.This processor uses the older AM4 socket and only supports DDR4The cooler (wraith stealth) in the box comes with thermal paste applied. Do not touch it! there is no sticker on top of it and can be installed directly on top of CPU. There are you tube videos that help with this stepDo not buy motherboards greater then those based on the B450 chipset. This processor can only use PCie3.0 and not PCIe4.0 therefore motherboards based on B550 and above chipsets offer no performance improvements even at a higher price (note: if you are getting a separate GPU with PCIe 4.0 e.g. AMD radeon RX 6500XT or want to use NVMe SSD with M.2 and PCIe 4.0, you might want to look at AMD Ryzen 5600X, which supports PCIe4.0. Of course 5600X is more expensive and does not have iGPU)Processor is easy to install.The cineBench R23 score for this processor is around 10900 points (multi core) and 1500 points (single core) which is better than a 9th gen core i9 (the direct competitor for this processor from intel is the i5 12400, which has slightly better performance (10-15%) as it is newer. It is also pricier as are the compatible motherboards. Also it supports DDR 5 which 5600G does not. The iGPU in 5600G is vastly superior though )The onboard Radeon Vega 6 graphics is also performative, with 30-40 FPS in modern games (tested with ghostrunner demo) at medium settings. This iGPU will hands down beat most or all intel iGPU and is a good choice for playing games on medium to low settings at 1080P without needing a separate GPU. Perfect for entry level editing and gaming

While the iGPU on this is decent, the overall package power draw is quite high for a low-power SFF build. I have this with the Noctua NH-L9A in a small mini-ITX build (in a 60mm high case). Had to back down the power target to 45W and disable HT to keep temperatures in check, but even then performance is respectable.The system is used as a digital transport for an audio system (streaming, BT and playback from CD/HDD). It is ridiculously quiet as configured, and can handle basically any sort of load while remaining under 60C in these very cramped quarters. For video use, a slightly bigger case and cooler combination is required.Overall, it is still sort of relevant nearly three years after launch, though the newer Intel 12th Gen CPUs do have better video encode/decode iGPUs if you're not interested in gaming (or have a discrete GPU). AMD's older 5xxx's would still outperform them once power is capped to say 45W, so you should choose based on your needs.

First I was skeptical about this product listing on amazon but it turned out well. It was little scary to install as at first my motherboard didn't recognized cpu as bios was currupted. so i had to use bios flash button on my motherboard to recover the bios.Now everything is working fine. if you get this cheaper than 5600g then go for this version as it is 1-3 % faster in gaming and upto 11% faster in cpu workload.
