Hybrid Picking Guitar Technique: Master the Techniques, Secrets & Versatility of Modern Hybrid Picking on Guitar (Learn Rock Guitar Technique)

This is the single best guitar technique I've had. Though initially it takes a while to get your fingers to operate in a different manner, with a bit of perseverance it soon becomes more natural and in fact far less stress on the picking hand and gives more variety of sound and nuance of tone than I've found with pick alone. The exercises add complexity as they move along but (as yet I am over half way through), they flow well and there have been no jumps in technique to frustrate. I've found that there are so many little licks and phrases in here that trigger ideas that I've then applied to my own exercises. Though I'm more into heavier rock styles the blues, country flavoured exercises are a good way of expanding range and adding more interest to any style of guitar playing.

I have all Levi Clay's guitar books and they have totally changed my whole approach to playing guitar. He has an incredible skill of breaking down complex theories and methods and building small, easily understood chunks of information which he then slowly and meticulously starts connecting together - and that's when the music begins! He has covered teaching hybrid picking in other books but this book takes it to another level and will give anyone interested in achieving enormous satisfaction by self accompaniment or accompanying singers, a wonderful understanding of this versatile skill.
