Stridex Natural Control Pads, 70 Count (Pack of 3)

I bought these to help me keep my face from breaking out. I'm middle aged and am still fighting acne.The pads are huge & there's plenty of medication on them (both good things in my book).I think these help. I don't have any problems with my face reacting to the medication in these. My face does get a little dry, if I use them a lot in the winter. A moisturizer seems to take care of that easily. These seem to be quite a bit gentler on my face than a lot of other products. I use these for daily/routine cleaning (I use a version of this with higher medication levels when I'm having breakouts).

The PH is too high to really de-gunk pores, but it's mildly astringent and the price is right. It's a fine toner but a poor chemical exfoliant. I like the Stridex in the red box better.

I really like these Stridex pads. I was using the Stridex pads for sensitive skin but was attracted to the "natural" ingredients in these so I gave them a try. I like them even better than the ones for sensitive skin, which contains alcohol. Just FYI, the main ingredient in these is betaine, it also contains white tea, and other natural ingredients. The pads are larger than regular Stridex pads so they go further. I can cover my whole face and still have enough left over to cover my neck and shoulders too. Even at age 45, I have oily skin and acne flair-ups, plus I am very prone to red, splotchy skin which is very easily irritated. I have been using these everyday for two weeks now and my skin is less red and splotchy and I have less acne. It doesn't over dry your skin, nor does it feel greasy. It does leave a thin film on your skin that takes about a minute or two to completely dry, but doesn't feel sticky after that. I'm also prone to allergies and have to stay away from heavy perfumes so this fits the bill there also. It doesn't really smell like anything. The salicydic acid in it helps to control acne although I use a stronger medicated gel for spot treatments where needed. These pads also clear up blackheads, which is great. My pores look clean and clear after using these. I bought the three pack from Amazon, so the price was right also. I definitely would recommend this product, especially for adult or mixed-type skin (normal/oily, etc).

This product instantly caused a terrible reaction in my skin tonight. My face was blotchy and bright red within a minute or two of swiping these on. I am worried about lingering effects tomorrow. My face still feels puffy and is burning even after washing and applying a soothing cream.I have somewhat sensitive skin that doesn't take well to harsh treatments, but not anything serious. I can use almost any product, including fragrances and preservatives, with no issues. I typically use Stridex Maximum Strength Pads and they work wonderfully, even though they are actually stronger than these (2 vs. 1 percent salicylic). I will be going back to those. I wanted to try the 1 percent as I probably don't need max strength. This product looked tempting. Bad decision!The only other time I have EVER experienced this was with a generic grocer brand grapefruit cleanser bought on vacation in London. I wonder if I'm allergic to artifical fruit acids? So weird! This was an awful experience and waste of money. Side note, it did foam up and leave residue like many reviewers on this site on others have stated. The instructions say that they provide added 'cleansing' even though they are just wipes. My guess is that they could be used similarly to the Aveeno Positively Clear Cleansing Pads, as a wash. But don't risk buying it.

I really like this stridex and I would like to address a couple things from reviews I've seen on here.One, stridex cloths are like towels, they need to be rung out before you put it on your face to clean it. There is no sense in putting a saturated cloth on your face, because it is like pouring chemicals on your face. If you wring your cloth out a little like I did. You won't get soapy residue on your face.Two, always try out a new product on your arm before smearing it on your face. I have sensitive skin. And I have had zero issues with this product, however, everyone is allergic to something different so always try it on your forearm then wait a day.All in all I love this product. It does not smell as bad as other stridex products. And it isn't as corrosive to the skin. It cleans my skin just as well, and I haven't noticed any pimples since my second use. My face feels refreshed and ready to go. Thanks stridex for making a more natural formula!

I love using this product. It works just as well or even better then the more expensive products out there. I have been using it for several years now and I used to be able to find it at Walmart. They no longer carry it at my local Walmart, so I am very glad that I found for a great price on Amazon. I will definitely by it again.

Pretty good for acne control. They don't melt your face off, and the price is right. They accomplish the same goal as any salicylic acid treatment, which is to get some acne relief and prevention. They're a bit big- I don't really understand the marketing behind why a larger pad is better, but I guess that's just American consumer mentality at work.

This works very well without over-drying. It's a good thing to use occasionally at night when you're too tired to fully wash your face, as well as a good thing to use after washing for specific break outs.
