Is there anyway to lock or set a maximum volume on these speakers? So the volume cannot go beyond a certain point.

Yes there is! Press the * (star) key while you are streaming something on the TV. Select "Sound settings", then select "volume mode" and click on "Night". Night mode was specifically designed to let you set a maximum level so that others won't be disturbed by loud noises in your movie, or louder-than-normal commercials.

From what I've read, yes it should be. I have a Roku Pro Sound Bar and picked up the onn Subwoofer and it worked/paired just fine.

How can i adjust the rear speaker volume separately?

To get mine to work I had to adjust a setting using my TV remote. The setting were with the TV not the Roku.
