Can't go wrong with THIS boot.
Got mine yesterday. Immediatle you will see QUALITY for the price. Sized RIGHT, leaves rooms for crew socks.BTW, thanks for the FREE RYNO COOL SOCKS bonus.Havent field tested yet, will show them off for a while first before going "off road".Great looking, I was hoping they were a shade or too darker. Color more to a desert sand.Soft inside, sturdy, flexible, strong and still light weight which I need. Heavier or steel toe boots / work shoes hurt my knees. I really like the zipper feature for easiest on off ever. AND the boot laces ARE THE RIGHT LEGNTH.

What a freakin' bargain
I bought these for a trip to Northern Tier which is a Boy Scout High Adventure Camp. I was the crew's advisor. One of the things to know about this trip, since it it is canoeing and portaging all day long, your feet are always wet and occasionally muddy. So I was looking for an over-the-ankle (required for the trip) boot that drains water well and that I wouldn't really care what happens to them. Kind of sacrificial boot. I was not going to treat my regular and loved hiking shoes and boots to this torture. This boot turned out to be perfect for the job. It drained well enough. It was sturdy and comfortable (there turned out to be a lot more hiking/portaging than I expected) and are actually pretty nice looking in a tactical-boot style way. But the best thing about them, and it wasn't a feature I used in my selection, was the side zipper. Everyone on the trip, except me, complained about getting out of wet boots in the evening and then trying to get their wet boots on in the morning. For me it was easy-breezy because of the side zipper. The boots also came with a pretty good pair of socks which I've actually worn a few times this winter.

Great price for a great boot
Update: Nov 15, 2015 ------------------I have taken this down to "it's ok", since the soles are all ready worn out. I noticed initially that the soles felt a little thin under the foot pad and I not have identical vent holes in each of the boots. With other boots I've worn out the tread, but since I have only had these for less than 6 months, I am less impressed with the price to value. I will give the Rebock's a go.---- end Nov 15th update ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Original review --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I debated many weeks on purchasing these, these are replacing my Converse 6" zippered that wore out and are no longer available. The reviews for these 6" Ryno's and price difference compared to Rebock's zippered helped me to order these.I have had these for over 2 weeks and they are well broke in. My dog and I generally put in at least 3+ miles of walkies a day and I do a lot of walking on the job. These boots are the replacement for the Converse 6" zippered boot that I wore the tread off of and the zipper broke :(One reviewer noted that these were $100 boots, I'd agreed with one additions. The first thing I do with any boot is replace the insole with Superfeet Green, this definitely adds to the price. IMO this is a must for any new footwear. The other suggestion I would give, is buy good socks and many pairs, so you can change out wet socks for dry and avoid blisters. My foot generally takes an 8.5 EE and more often than not I have opt for a 9E. I ordered a size 8, having gotten from the reviews these ran big. The Green Superfeet insole was a M7.5 - 9.0 and it fit without any trimming and these fit my foot and hiking socks very comfortably. These measure up to my Converse very well, except for ease of slipping on and zipping. A shoe horn helps and I just have to be careful not to let the nylon dirt shield get caught in the zipper. I like the idea of the shield, it's just taking some getting use to...

ALL I EVER BUY!
My pest control crew only wears these boots.Daily wear and tear and lasts over a year.Arizona is HOT! These boots are not too heavy and are very durable. Nice appearance too.We all enjoy the convenience of the zippers for quick put on leaving the laces tightly tied at all times.

Great Boots just what I was looking for, feel great on my feet
Great boots fit as I hoped they would feel great on my feet. I had an old pair (different brand) that hurt my feet esp. my toes. I bought these in the same size because that's the size all my shoes run. These boots compared to my old are great I wear them everywhere I can. Glad I purchased them, would recommend them if your looking into them. It says to water seal them so I put two coats on using KIWI brand Boot Protection. Stuff worked great.

3rd pair
This is my 3rd pair .They aren't used for military operations, just working around the house. I like comfort. Tie loosely with zipper open and these are better than an expensive tennis shoe for working, (or just living) around house. Don't know what mil-spec is for desert boots, but that's not what I use them for.

Built good.
This is my my third pair. I wear them everyday. First pair (working boots) are dirty and bottoms getting worn but still serviceable. Second pair is hiking etc. and almost looks like new. Newest pair is somewhat used as dress boots.Price is very good.
