Royal GourmetSE2801 Electric Smoker with Adjustable Temperature Control, Black

Smoker would never go over 199 degrees and would fluctuate over 40 degrees when on maximum. Tried to get another analog controller replacement but was no longer under warranty after 3 months so we purchased that piece separately in hopes of that being the issue. Sadly it didn't work. Does anyone have ideas on what else we can try?

Love this smoker. It was easy to set up. Only thing I wish it had was an actual heat dial. I used it in the cold and it was difficult to keep temp up. However, the ribs I made were amazing and for the money this would be hard to beat

We used this product six or seven times and the heating element broke. Very poor product. I would not purchase this item ever again.

I’m writing this review on behalf of my husband. I purchased this smoker as a gift for him for Christmas. First off…the water pan has a plastic coating on it that unless you are looking you won’t see. He seasoned the smoker and lo and behold the bottom of the pan burned. Fortunately there was nothing wrong with the smoker and no damage noted. Royal gourmet was contacted and a new pan was sent. Second! He used the smoker about a week later. The temperature appeared to hold and our meat came out fine. Albeit maybe a little underdone but it was our first time smoking so we were really just guessing on cooking times. Today is our second go with smoking. The smoker preheated well. Once the meat was put in that all changed. It was up around 300 so my husband dialed down the temp and now we can’t get it above 150 even on high. I guess we will have to see how the rest of the day goes but I hope it doesn’t flop. I’m kinda having buyers remorse over here wishing I went for the better (more popular) brand.UPDATE:Since posting this review we have returned the smoker for a refund. Turns out after speaking with the company the heating element went and it cannot be replaced in this model. Looks like we will be starting from zero with a new smoker. As an aside the return process was seamless. We were able to return without packaging through Amazon. Customer service was wonderful and once the return was completed the refund was processed.

The smoker works really well. I was pleasantly surprised based on reading some of the reviews after I made the purchase. It arrived in 2 days, easy to put together. One of the shelf holders was missing a rivet, but I was able to balance the bottom tray and was able to follow the seasoning instructions. I got the heat to 165 and left it there for 2 hours added chips for the 3rd hour and generated smoke. I smoked fish for an hour at 250 for an hour and it cooked well. Also contacted the help team, and they are working with me to fix the rivet issue on the bottom shelf.
