THE BEST! JUST GET THEM! YOU WON’T BE SORRY!
.UPDATEOK, you *might* be sorry. One of our cats woke up while we were secretly trying to clip his nails. He's a very deep sleeper since he's gotten older and ill, but he moved at the last second and I clipped the quick of his nail. It was bad. He bled A LOT :(These would be perfect if Millers Forge could make a style that cuts as cleanly as these do, but with a nail guard.During an unrelated vet exam, the vet recommended we give him a serious medication they don't give out lightly so we could clip this guy's nails with less trauma for all of us because he gets *so* crazed when held against his will. He's gone blind and that's part of it, but he was also abandoned in the desert and went feral years back when he was still young. While he's been with us for years and seems mostly good-natured, he has always been *completely* wild when held against his will. So much so he sent one of us to the ER! It's even worse since he's gone blind. If you were to overhear us trying to clip his nails or at the vet’s office, you’d think we were trying to catch a cornered wild panther or something. This is not much of an exaggeration. The vet admittedly dreads this kitty. So, yeah. If you've got that kinda kitty, these are NOT the clippers for you. They are very well made, they don't splinter nails, but geez. Poor kitty! Our other kittyguy is much better with nail clipping and we’ll still use these on him. Sadly, we’ll have to figure out something else for monster kitty./END UPDATEThese are the best nail clippers, ever! We were amazed by them, as we must have bought at least 30 nail clippers for our cats over many years and thought they were all pretty much the same. But, these are *absolutely* the best ones we’ve come across, and they only cost a few dollars more than the crummy ones we’ve used forever. We misplaced our old ones, (how do these things disappear?!), which is why we bought these, but even if the old ones are found they’re going in the trash because our kitties are never going back! The gazillion brands of clippers you see at various big pet stores are NOT EVEN COMPARABLE to these Millers Forge “scissors”.We’re not much on, “brand loyalty” but we’ll never use another brand of cat nail clippers unless this company’s quality goes downhill, which almost seems inevitable in this economy, but we’ll hold out hope. We told all our friends with animals about these clippers which is not something we normally do. Y’know, 'cause they're clippers. These work *smoothly* with no wiggle between the blades. The nails are not crushed, they don’t split into fragments, etc.The nails are cleanly cut through on the first try.WHAT?! Unheard of! We were kinda in shock over it. Seriously. But really, our kitties must be so grateful. We can even sneak clipping a nail or two at a time on our monster cat while he sleeps!!!! Those of you with monster cats will know what a wondrous thing this is.The one thing that causes some hesitation is they don’t have a guard to make sure you don’t cut the “quick” of the nail. For us though, we usually had to clip one nail multiple times, which made the guard thing kind of useless anyway.Thinking it over now, we think the nail guard might be part of what makes so many clippers so wobbly, so we’re not sure if these clippers would be improved upon if one was added. You do have to be careful and go slowly (if possible!) while you get used to these, but once you do, we think you’ll be as bizarrely giddy as we are over something as simple as cat nail clippers that actually work well.Hope this helps!=< ` ; ` >=

Sharp & well-made -- my cat approves
My cat Athena & I were both surprised by how quickly & effortlessly these cut through her claw tips. For a while i was trimming her claws with a human fingernail clipper (didn't know it hurt), until she eventually went on pedicure strike. Took a lot of ritual & bribes to get her to let me cut a claw with this tool, and we were both impressed with the results. We're trimming a claw/day (or pretend to if none are sharp) as part of a ritual that includes 4 of her favorite treats, and she's getting more & more relaxed about the trimming. When her claws aren't trimmed, she gets them stuck in everything, which frustrates her a great deal & even leads to some violence. This is first car claw trimmer I've owned, so i cannot compare. But it's wholly satisfactory & appears sturdy & well-made, so i don't anticipate owning another.(I store it in the treat bag so it has a cat-approved odor & i don't lose it. Our daily pedicure ritual starts with face-rubbing the claw clipper 😼?

These are the perfect size, nice and small but with generous loops ...
I have had probably five pairs of cat nail clippers in the last six years. Most of them are so huge you wonder if you bought dog clippers by mistake. These are the perfect size, nice and small but with generous loops for your fingers. Make sure you read the instructions on the box about how to use them as it's probably not at the angle you think, or at least it wasn't for me. They are very sharp and sturdy, they should last through several cats no problem.
