Nice, easy to use, clear recordings
I bought this for my safety against road rage etc. I am impressed with the clarity of the recordings. All aspects of the camera work. Some a little to well. Lane departure was very sensitive, so I finally disabled it. Front collision or following too close works a little to well. But better than not working at all. Red light camera detection and it also pick up my security camera and tells me how far away I am from it. I am very pleased with this camera and would recommend it to others. I upgraded the ad card to 64G. The 8G only got me to work then over rides the card for the ride home.

Excellent dash cam with GPS and software to watch the video with location overlain.
I have really enjoyed this dash cam more than I expected. Playing back interesting parts of my trips has been a treat, and with the GPS overlay, it's easy to figure out which 5 minute segment I'm looking for. The video quality is great, as is the audio. I keep the display on HUD, which means I see the time and my speed while I'm tooling down the road.My one complaint- and this may just be me- is that I don't understand the safety camera aspect where I get alerts, theoretically when I'm passing speed and red light cameras. I'd rather just disable the warnings, but I had to settle for muting the sounds. I may feel differently if I knew the mechanics behind how they detect the cameras' but that info seems to be hidden somewhere I can't find it.I get around 20 hours of video from a 128 GB micro SD card.Overall, I love this little camera. If someone stole it, I'd buy the exact same one.

Great camera at an even better price. Get the 2.7" for best results.
I bought one of these for myself, and was so pleased with it that I bought one for my brother as a gift. The video quality is amazing, and nighttime viewing is about 75%. It still works well in dark, but don't plan on seeing any license plate numbers that are more than 10' away from your car. The GPS feature is very cool, and very accurate. I turned off the lane departure and overspeed warnings--they get very annoying very quickly. I've never had a problem with leaving my lane or speeding (hahaha), so I don't need those features. The video is clear enough in daylight that you can make out license numbers 60-80' in front of you pretty clearly. You can freeze-frame and blow up the image, and the pixel count is high enough that you can still see what you're looking at. The suction cup mount gave some serious pull, and it doesn't "wobble" while driving like some dashcams. Overall, a great purchase. Just be sure you get a bigger SD card. I have a 64GB card, and I get roughly 7-8 hours of drivetime without any problems.

The damn thing won't stay mounted
I really want to give this product 5 stars because for the most part, it does its job well. It records both video and audio clearly and is fairly easy to configure. Settings and that sort of thing are all pretty intuitive and I had no issues setting it up or accessing my footage. However, within 2 weeks after mounting the dashcam, it just started falling off the mount like crazy. The first time seriously freaked me out since it just came crashing down and banged against a plastic part of my car while I was in the middle of driving. To clarify: I have mounted the camera correctly, exactly according to instructions. The suctioned part stays on perfectly fine, but the part where you actually slide and adjust the camera to the holding apparatus is where it keeps falling off.-I initially thought this may have been a product of the elements expanding and becoming loose due to extreme heat (110+ where I live during the summer), but it fell just the same in 60 degree (Fahrenheit) weather.-The camera falling also doesn't seem to be affected by the speed at which I'm driving. It's fallen off at speeds over 60 MPH on the highway, and has fallen off at speeds around 20 MPH or below when driving in a neighborhood or school zone.-It falls literally every single day I drive at least once, often twice.-I've tried remounting it to no avail. The only way to keep the thing on is to adjust it at a really awkward angle so that gravity won't pull it down as much (but then you can't really capture the road well).I honestly feel like this dashcam will jeopardize my safety and CAUSE me to get into an accident because of the constant falling and crashing, rather than protect me and my insurance in the event of a collision. How ironic!

Piece of Junk
This product is terrible. It was received in good order and was operational for a total of three days. Then the unit will not operate without crashing. It will boot up, start the recording process and then immediately crash.I contacted Magellan customer service via their website, and they responded within 48 hours. Unfortunately all of their suggested corrections failed to correct the issue. I have contacted them again and hopefully they will send me a replacement unit.Another annoyance with the unit are the power and function buttons. They are too accessible and sensitive, which makes accidental pressing of them, say when you're trying to adjust the camera's position, far too easy. The seller was fantastic. It's Magellan's product that is terrible.

Not perfect, but works great for my needs.
One of the few with GPS included in the $60 price range. So far I like it. Very easy to use, just plug and play. I have no use for lane departure and other safety alert features, so I can't comment. It gives you tons of info on playback, location(Lat/Long), speed, Gforces incurred, time/date stamp, altitude and much more. I wouldn't leave it in your window during hot days as it does have a Li battery and they will swell.Positives: GPS, easy to use, takes up to a 128g card very good daytime pics. Suction cup mount is secure and very well made. Plug it in and it starts recording. Mivue Manager app is packed with info and features.Negatives: Night pics are not that great, but still decent. No on off button for recording sound. Field of view is a bit smaller than others, but it shows everything I need.
