I got this to complete an art project for a class. It does get a little hot after using it a couple of hours. Which wasn’t bad, it forced me to take a break. LolPretty good deal for what I needed.

This product is not a wood burning kit. It gets hot but the end where you add the tips burns out, tips bend and fall out .I ordered 2 for a craft day with grandchildren and both of them are not working now.WVery disappointed with product!!

I used it for one project on the highest heat setting and the tip completely bent. Returning this, will go back to the basic tool.I also found this more difficult to use due to the hot tip area being longer than on the other model that I used. I find to have more control over my work with the other one.

Bought this as a beginner to learn simple burning techniques. The handle gets really hot, even while wearing the gloves. Also, the tips loosen and spin all around, since the directions indicate you shouldn't tighten the tips while hot, you are forced to stop and wait for it to cool again. In short, between the hot handle and loose tips, you can only burn for 15 - 20 minutes at a time. It works, you just have to be really patient and willing to constantly let it cool and readjust the tips. I also found most of the tips are kind of useless and I ended up using only 1 or 2 over and over again. Hoping that is just a learning curve. If I where to buy another burner, I'd probably spend a little more money and get something better.

Product is ok, a bit complicated to figure out the tips as it's a basic kit without all the tips listed, it's more of a random tip assortment compared to the book. Instructions for the tips purposes would be nice but not included. Gets hot quickly but not accurate. The kids enjoy it and we've only had it a couple days and already upgraded to the other style with the actual wood burning tips as the ones included seem more for shading but still do a good job for learnig.
