Best go-to lure
The Acme Kastmaster has always been my best go-to lure for ANY fish when the going gets tough. Fish bite this spoon when they aren't biting anything else.

Lives up to the name
Sails through the air. Has nice, versatile action; looks good on several retrieve variations. I will buy another for my saltwater box as it would work well there too.I only casted it 20 or so times of the dock as a test. Nothing bit, but I am confident they would. Tempted to go with a little bigger hook, but not sure if it would mess up the action.

Great little lure
Cathes everything from Spanish mackerel and jacks to rainbow trout and largemouth bass.

Great lures, but tough to know what you'll get.
Great lures! I ordered 4 in different sizes and colors. The reason they get 4 starts is that of the 4 I bought, two had a ring to tie onto and a hook, one had a hook and no ring, and one had no hook and no ring. The gold 1/4 oz had a ring and a hook, so I figured I'd try it out.Within about 15 minutes I cought a trout. This is mid January, the lake is stocked with trout, but hasn't been stocked since October or November.Great lures, and I'm excited to fish with the rest of them, I just wish they were more consistent in what came with them.

Great bait especially for a windy day
Great spoon and great weight for a windy day. Love using it when bull reds are schooling. Can really get some distance with it as well. Super durable as well. Always have it tied on a pole when I head out on the boat.

All hail the kastmaster
This is by far one of the most versatile lures you can have in your tackle box. Period. Whether it's casting, trolling, bouncing off the bottom, it can do it all. I have personally not noticed a difference between gold and silver ones but the latter have caught me trout in overcast/rainy days vs the gold one on sunny days.Given the weight on this thing you'll be able to launch it quite aways. I like to let it get to the bottom and then slowly bring it back (bank fishing).Whether it's freshwater or saltwater, this baby is a lure that you can rely on to perform time and time again. Use it with fluorocarbon, maybe a bit of scent, and you'll be catching trout for days.

The 1/8 oz and 1/12 oz are great for stocked rainbow trout!
I'm pretty new to fishing (started maybe two months ago) and just tried the Kastmaster today, fishing from the banks of the Colorado river: I caught three rainbows on them out of my five trout limit! I probably could have kept on with this lure but wanted to try out a few others and hit my limit with those instead. I was using the chrome fluorescent orange stripe, 1/12 oz size. These were easy to cast and flew surprisingly far given their weight. I think either the 1/4 oz, 1/8 oz, or 1/12 oz would all be good for 12"-14" stocked rainbow trout.Note that some of these lures either don't include a split ring, or the split ring has separated enough to look more like a spring than a proper split ring. I didn't want to tie directly to a faulty split ring, so I put on a small snap instead. My setup was to use a snap direct to the lure blade, then a 12" fluorocarbon 6lb leader, to a barrel swivel, and then to my braided 8lb line. The Kastmaster will definitely be staying on one of my lure rods going forward!
