Beautiful Music! Great Arrangement, performance and price!
Tchaikovsky's The Seasons contains some of his loveliest and most accessible melodies. This set of miniatures was originally composed for piano and subsequently arranged for Orchestra by a number of composers, notably, Alexander Gauk and Morton Gould.I found Peter Breiner's arrangement for violin and orchestra both masterful and charming. Takako Nishizaki's playing is excellent, as usual! This album is a real bargain at only $5.99 (Digital download)!

tchaikovsky arranged??
just so you know, all of the works on this cd were -arranged- by a modern composer/conductor by the name of peter breiner. everything about the CD is good, though, but if you're a purist as i am you'll prob. be more interested in naxos's CD of the seasons as originally scored for solo piano.
