Faux/Fake Fur Mongolian Fabric Sold by The Yard (White Prime)

Excellent faux fur for my needs! I bought this fur for two purposes: One, I have an old Air Force N3B Parka that I wanted to replace the fur trim on because the previous owner had neglected to take care of it properly. It had become matted, yellowed and hideous, and I figured the grey/white look of this faux fur would compliment the olive drab Jacket nicely, which it did. It fact, it looks great! The underside of the fur has a fabric side which my sister in law was able to sew easily to the parka's hood. I'm not sure how well the fur will hold up to wet weather, but before next winter hits I'll be sure to research if there are any options for treating it.The other reason I bought the fur was for some newborn photography. At the time, we had a little one on the way. Now, she's 6 months old, and I'm still using this fur for backdrops (there was plenty leftover from the small amount I needed for the hood). The fur is so soft, and our girl has never acted like she was irritated being on it. I've noticed no problem with shedding, either. And this stuff adds such a touch of professionalism, especially with some natural light hitting it. It looks great with both hard and soft focus. I still plan on picking up some other colored furs eventually to switch it up a little. I definitely recommend this to photographers. It's great quality and inexpensive for the amount you get.

Much better quality than I expected! Thick and lush fur with a slightly 'clumpy' look, with not much show-through of the backing fabric at all. It was also quite flexible and soft, not stiff.

This product is amazing. I, like you, read all of the reviews, because I couldn't believe that this could be so cheap and actually be a quality product. It's expensive to buy, and I was looking for something that wouldn't break the bank, but didn't want to waste money on something I wouldn't use(I am a photographer and use this in the studio for newborn/baby pictures). Many reviews said that this fur shed excessively, but that is not the case. Before you buy, realize that you are buying fabric by the yard, and that means the material is cut from a bolt(a huge roll of material) where only two of the edges are finished/hemmed. The end pieces are NOT finished, this is where it is cut from the roll, therefore there will be a lot of shedding at those two ends. When I received my fur fabric, I took it outside and shook it rigorously to get all of the loose fur from the unfinished edges. And because I plan on using it in my studio, and would need to wash it in case it got soiled, I couldn't let the edges unfinished, or it would continue to shed. So, I took a hot glue gun and sealed the two edges that weren't hemmed. You could also use a sewing machine, or they make hemming tape to keep the fabric from continuing to unravel. Not only did I finish the edges on every color that I ordered this in, but I also had to wash some because of newborn spit-up and urine. I didn't want to risk ruining my investment, so I opted to hand wash, and then hang to dry. I took a large tooth comb after it was dry, ruffled it up, and it looks good as new. If you're going to order this, keep in mind that if you do not intend to 'finish' the cut edges, then yes, it is going to keep on shedding and you will have fur everywhere. But if you use glue/tape to finish the edges and keep the fabric from unraveling, and take care when washing and drying, then it will last for years and years. Also keep in mind pile length when ordering, that is a small detail that you want to pay attention to, I made sure to order the 3"pile, but if you're not looking for it specifically, you can get stuck with a 1" or 2" pile, and while that I'm sure is also a good quality product, I wanted the long hair Mongolian fur. I'd definitely buy this product again, and already have it in 5 colors. Would highly recommend.

The fabric is incredible. The color saturation is beautifully intense, the pile is luxuriously long and shaggy, and it is perfect for the puppets we are making. The weave in the fabric is nice and tight, which minimizes shedding when you cut from the back side. The price point is an unbelievable value. I would happily buy this again!

Faux / Fake Fur Mongolian BLACK Fabric. I bought a beautiful black jacket with a hood , I wanted one with faux fur trim but it didnt come with a fur trim, so I purchased this Faux / Fake Fur Mongolian BLACK Fabric and when I received it I was very excited to see how long and soft and luxurious this faux fur is and you get plenty of it for the price, I put the trim on my coat myself and it looks Beautiful,it made my coat look way more expensive than what I actually paid, for it and now that is my favorite coat,and I have plenty of Faux / Fake Fur Mongolian BLACK Fabric left, Great Price absolutely beautiful soft shiny faux fur I would highly recommend it to anybody looking for faux fur,

This was great for my Shaman Wolf cosplay. It came on time and worth the money. It's sheds but that's to be expected. You also get what you pay for. I git this at a decent price for pretty decent quality. They sent a good amount of fur. It cut well and I could comb it into place. It was easy to sew. I used a miniature machine to sew this and it worked. It was also soft and the color was spot on.

I'm using this for puppy photography. It does shed a bit the first few uses, but it's surprisingly durable (puppies can be tough little critters, afterall!) and looks great! I ordered one yard, and was able to cut it in half with plenty of room to make it appear plush in a 24 inch photo light box. Love it!

This is the third time I've recieved fur from fabric empire (I've ordered the dark red, white and now the black), and each time it has been a quality product for a very reasonable price. The length matches the description, its super soft and relatively easy to work with. After I ordered it, I only had to wait for three days, so it shipped really fast. If you're looking for fur for a fursuit, I highly recommend this company.
