Shark Upright Vacuum Cleaner [NZ850UK] with Powered Lift-Away, Anti Hair Wrap, DuoClean, Purple

I purchased 2 of these shark hoovers, 1 for my elderly parents and 1 for my home. The hoover seems well built and sturdy, but it has draw backs. It is quite heavy, particularly if you are elderly, have arthritis or a bad back etc. The lift-away is handy but limited because the pipe is not very flexible. Trying to use the wand either with the lift-away or attached to the hoover has the same effect, the hose is not flexible enough. The hose keeps on popping out from the hoover where it is attached. The 2 tools you receive with the hoover can be attached to it, but I find the Multi-Surface Tool either catches on the cable or is knocked off when remove or replace the lift-away. I also feel the cable is not long enough and is postioned on the wrong side of the hoover if you are right-handed.On the plus side the hoover seems well built and sturdy. The head of the hoover is not too wide and nicely manoeuvrable, which for me is a plus, it gets into gaps that my Hetty hoover brush head also gets into. Although it's quite heavy it's fairly easy to push. The suction is great and emptying the hoover is a breeze. The light on the front actually does make a difference, especially having a dark grey carpet. So I probably would buy again but think it's rather expensive.

Been looking for a decent hoover for a while and a friend recommended I try the shark,so I did.it’s a good,sturdy hoover,excellent pick up.with 2 dogs it certainly does the trick,picking up dog hair with ease.the only downside to it is how heavy it is to push around,especially on carpet.i wouldn’t recommend for an older person.i use it a couple of times a week and use my cordless vac in between as a quick tidy up.Overall very happy with it,certainly building my muscles up though.

The cleaner has excellent suction and cleaning power. Although in itself it is lightweight, it is quite heavy to use. I think this is because it is designed to be very manoeuvrable, which combined with the suction, makes it quite awkward to move at first. But as I get used to it, I am finding it less of a problem. In particular I find the suction when using the crevice tool is very much better than any vacuum cleaner I have had in the past.

I’ve had a dyson for a while and was fairly happy, but having 4 kids and cat and dog it got used multiple days times a day I went the them within 1-1.5 years. For the price it wasn’t great.After I brought my shark I would never go back. The suction was amazing and picked up hair I didn’t even know was there. I use it 2-4 times a day and no issues. Amazing clean every time. I have wooden floors downstairs and some carpet upstairs with lots of thick rugs and works perfectly on all surfaces. AMAZING hoover

This is my 3rd Shark vacuum cleaner. They all still work but my main one is cordless and I’m always forgetting to charge it. The second one is a mini one I use for the stairs and car so this was really needed as I just wanted to plug in and go. The suction power is supreme. Be careful as it will lift your carpet up it’s that powerful. You may need to use the hard floor setting for rugs and newer carpets.We have two cats and this lifts up all cat hairs.

I've owned Vax Pet hoovers, Dyson ect. Nothing beats this. Suction is outstanding. I've have 2 cats, 3 girls in this house that she'd hair like German Shepards and the anti hair wrap DOES THE JOB. Emptying the chamber is so easy too. No need to stick your hand in to try get the final bits stuck in the drum. It is a heavy hoover, buy not ridiculous. Highly recommended.

A powerful cleaner. Have certainly noticed the difference from our last vacuum. A good idea the vacuum splitting to do stairs or where there’s a need get in awkward places. A real improvement on over our old vacuum. Would certainly recommend this model.

We decided to go back to a corded vacuum with more dust capacity, having been a bit disillusioned with cordless.This one was a good price on offer, has powerful suction and is easy to empty.However, I find it heavy to use particularly as I have a bad back.
