Tension? What Tension?
So, in the spirit of, "If you can't say something nice," I'll say that this curtain rod is very attractive. It's exactly what I was looking for, appearance-wise. But, like so many pretty things, it's not so functional. When I started working from home, I bought this to hang a lightweight 30" square tapestry in the front of a bookcase to cover the not-so-attractive business papers, binders, etc. that are now part of my home life.It worked! For almost a day. Until a chair bumped into the tapestry and it fell with nary a whimper. "I must have done it wrong," I thought, and read all the directions again. I reset the rod, ensuring maximum tension. A few days later, I was typing away at my laptop and watched as the tapestry slowly slid down the bookcase. Maybe I'm maxing out on the weight, I thought, and compared how much my tapestry weighed as opposed to a curtain. Hmm... nope. It's actually lighter than most curtains. The next time it fell, I wasn't home and the white disc thingy that sticks in the end of the rod to protect the "wall" surface fell out. I stuck it back in, but every time the rod fell from then on, that disc popped out, until it finally got lost. Now, the rod still holds the tapestry, but there's no tension; I just let it rest on the organizational baskets.Bottom line: If I opt to replace this one; I'll choose another model.

This is a rod that works!
These are great. The only downside is the finials are large and to be covered by the curtain would need a 2"+ pocket. That may not be a big deal in some cases, but for us it would be better if they were smaller.Although the description doesn't say it, besides the twist and lock, the finials are adjustable so once they are set with the twist, you can snug it up even more by unscrewing the finial with a twist or 3 or 4. Other rods by Maytex that have smaller finials have the same description but the finials are not adjustable leaving you with a hope and a prayer that you get the twist/lock in place solid enough to hold. This one I would recommend for curtains that may be opened or handled in any way. The others I would not and by reviews for them, you'll see why.I may replace the other with this one and just be OK with the finials showing at the ends. Or, snip the seam at the end of the curtain to open them up enough to completely cover the finial by getting the curtain over them and up to the wall.

hard to set but sturdy once you get it set correctly
you have to turn the end one way to loosen and another to tighten. took me a couple of minutes to figure this out. it's somewhat of a pain to get up but it's much higher quality than the spring type. these will hold up for a very long time and hold heavy curtains well. just can't set it in place. you have to hold it at an angle and tighten it up and then force it into place. may take a couple of times to get it right but once you do it'll stay. these rods are pretty heavy and i don't see how they will wear down for many years, unlike the spring loaded kinds.

Misleading rod size
It is a nice looking tension rod in comparison to some of the clearly cheap ones out there. I needed this for a 47” space. It is advertised to go up to 48”. This is true that the absolute extended rod was that length. However, about 3.5” before this there is a piece of tape labeled “stop”. It will sag terribly of course at this far of an extension, and I’d imagine would soon fall. It seems like a decent product but if you need it for a space longer than 43.5”, check for other sizes.

Excellent holding power
I use this rod to hang full length 84" heavy drapes over the door inside my studio to reduce sound going out and echo inside the room. They hold very well. It locks/releases with just a little twist.

Worth it!
These are so far superior to the cheap, thin ones, that if you don't get them, you are just silly. The curtain glides, the rod stays, the color looks classy...good product.

Perfect Tension Curtain Rod
I needed to add a light balance to the window above my shower. I needed a tension rod to go on the inside of the window and this was just what I needed on the color to match my bathroom fixtures. I love it. It’s difficult to find this and it’s length in a store but no problem here.

Don't hold that well
These look great and I like the way they work, but they don't hold that well. Opening and closing your curtains will cause them to fall, and sooner rather than later. I've had to readjust two of them. Hopefully, making them tighter will do the trick.

These work really well! I didn't find anything cheaper or the same price with the good reviews this product had and I wasn't disappointed when I got them and set them up. I ordered a few and they're all up and working really well. I would definitely recommend this product!

Works and looks great.
Works great once you get the hang of it (no pun intended) and looks great. Holds the one panel of a heavier curtain we set-up on it with little to no problems.

Difficult to install
Very nice product and look and feel. But its is not easy to adjust to 48 inch window. My child openly said that he scared to have it in his room for window as he was scared that it will fall down. So need to return the product. for 48 inch window plan for something larger size so that it fits correctly to the size

Not easy to set correct tension to hang curtains
The rods look very nice but I had some difficulty setting for correct width. I did get them up but not quite as easy as they appear.
