Q: is this for saltwater also??

No, it says right on the front of the container that it is for freshwater.

Q: Are the pellets too small for the Marineland refillable cartridge that goes into the 200 and 300 filters?

The pellets are extremely small. I used them in a canister placed in a medium bag. Leaked out of that though filter media and into tank. Was a big mess.

Q: How long does this last?

Great question! That will completely depend on the tank and its conditions. You know to change it out when it turns to an amber color. For example, if you have a lot of ammonia in the tank due to it being new, this will last less time than if you put it in as more of a maintenance type of media in a more established tank that is well maintained.
