Elegant, graceful entrance piece.
I enjoyed this program entirely, and will recommend it to advanced students looking into oriental style dance. The program consists of warmup, technique review, the four rhythms, (malfouf, maksoum, samai, and saidi. There is also a section with additional choreography to piece into the entrance piece as well as a practice section and a beautiful performance by this graceful and lovely dancer. Each rhytm section begins with a rhytm breakdown by the drummer, followed by the demonstration of applied dance technique and combos. These are broken down and illustrated by Shahrzad which makes it easy to transition into the sections with mini choreographies which are later combined into an entire entrance piece. There is much to learn and the advanced student will not be bored. Any beginner with isolation basic experience can challenge themselves with this very elegant technique and choreography.

intermediate to advanced
the instructor shows the moves carefully and explains well. the drummer is very informative and the musicality is clearly explained. this would be too hard for a beginner. the music is egyptian and the dance builds up in stages, until it is complete. this disc requires knowledge of the dance language and a degree of fitness. no floorwork involved. it's a real challenge and it's great dancing!

I like this one of its simplicity
I like this one of its simplicity. A lovely choreography that I can use at persian and middle eastern restaurants, but too slow for more upbeat venues. I edited the music to make the piece more like 5 mins, as 6.5 is too long for an entrance piece for western audiences.I wish that this had included a rearview, it would have been easier to learn.
