While these are very expensive for what they are, but they work well and are sturdy. I have used plant halos for years and they last and last, which makes the price easier to stomach.I do enlarge the holes in the spikes because the holes as the are made clog easily.

Planted 12 tomato plants, including 3 heirloom, large,small and cherry tomatoes, and some yellow ones. They ALL did very well, and many reached above our 5' fence. Also tried them with 15 gourd plants. Removed the pieceat the top with 3 small holes as I couldn't figure out anything it was good for. Used tomato cages on both the gourds and the tomatoes--placed the bottom cage wires in the three holes surround the "bowl" you plant in. Perfect! Got an amazing crop of gourds in spite of having to pollinate them at night. (There are too few moths and night insects in our area (NW PA) for dependable pollination). (For info, search "how to pollinate gourds"). I see the price has gone up since last fall, but I think these garden implements are still worth it.

If you haven't used these for your tomato plants you are missing something nice. Put the water in the well and slow release of water. Great way to keep water of the leaves. I have bought these on a gardeners product website and they are so much less expensive here. This one has the holes a bit smaller and can get plugged up so it may need to be made slightly larger to drain. It can be from the soil we use though (Happy Frog or Ocean's Forest). I would recommend this and will not plant tomatoes without it

Purchased couple years ago and finally decided to try them. I found that the drip holes plug and I have to continually clear them with an ice pick and not always sure which ones plugged. Other than that, it would be nice if a filter ring fit in the well to keep leaves, dust, etc. getting in the well water and plugging the holes also Again I wanted these to work as I grow tomatoes in grow bags but eventually removed them.Great idea, just didn't work for me.

These make watering easy and can install tomatoe cage into the unit. Have used for tomatoes and peppers for a few years. Reusable every year. Hold up well.

We purchased these last year and they worked so well, so we purchased more for additional tomato plants.
