This thing actually works and records audio too. It records avi file and when played, it looks pixelated and has a green rectangle underneath the video. But I think it's because of the micro sd card that came with it.I converted the file to an mp4 and it fixed the problem. I will purchase a different micro sd card and see if that works. Otherwise, I have no issue converting files to an mp4.

This product is well worth the purchase.The pen comes in a sleek box with all of the needed accessories neatly packaged and protected for shipping. It includes the pen, of course, along with 5 ink refills, a 256GB micro SD card, a USB card reader, full color instructions with pictures and diagrams and charging cable.The device shoots full, beautiful 1080P video and has a mic for sound recording. It can record for up to 150 minutes according to the box, but I confess I haven't left it on for that long yet to test it. Charging it is as simple as unscrewing the writing part of the pen from the rest of the pen body and plugging in the USB cable. Unloading the recordings is just as easily accomplished. Simply unscrew the pen, pull out the micro SD card, put the card in the USB card reader and plug it into your computer. No extra software or hardware needed.Whether you're trying to do some light spy work or just record lectures from a professor, this pen gets the job done with ease. Five out of five stars, would definitely buy again (and may for Christmas presents!)

Using this product for a couple weeks now, and for the price it really works very good and is easy to use. Bear in mind this camera doesnt take the place of a good movie/camcorder system, but to capture my family in action and incognito works quite well. Seems when you aim a camera at someone they tend to be aware of it and dont act the same way or naturally.The Pen camera starts recording soon as you turn it on and following the instructions explains the operation of stopping/starting recordings. You can do continuous recordings and each video file lengths are 5 mins and are AVI file types. Longest length video I have done so far is about 30 minutes. You would need a Video editor to make all the videos into 1 big file. Surprised the video quality is not bad for both outdoor and indoors with lights turned on. Havent done much in low light yet. The Pen does get a little bit warm during any operations, but works fine.There is no stabilization for this device so there is allot of bouncing around if doing anything rigorous/walking/riding bicycle. Best for stationary panning of scenes, meetings, riding in a car, etc.Tough Part: Still figuring out how to accurately aim(very hard at times) this tiny camera when it is put into my pocket. It doesn't take very much to have the tiny camera aimed off somewhere at a wrong target.To get the video files I just connect the supplied USB cable from the Pen to my PC computer. From there, i can either view them on the SD card or move them onto the computer. i just leave the SD card in the Pen all the time during this operation and also while it charges back up. I dont know how long a battery charge lasts cause I only run it for short periods of time. I try to not plug in or pull out the USB cable while my computer is on, hopefully this prevents any corruption of the Pen device. Not sure if there is any EJECT feature for the Pen.I shall now see how the Pen does for durability over the weeks and months to follow. So far all is working the way it should. Hope this helps others about the Pen Camera.

Wow. So I only bought this because I thought it would be fun to good around with. I wasn't expecting much from it and was really really skeptical of this product. At such a low price- how good could it be? I expected an incredibly low quality video but I was pleasantly surprised to find out the quality is much better than I expected it to be. I added a photo from where I spied on my pup sleeping. The video and audio are both really clear and the pen actually write well too. At first I thought it didn't come with a micro USB but it does! I also love that there's a sliding cover for the camera so you can cover the camera when you need to.I use a Macbook and could not watch the video at first because it saves as an AVI file and QuickTime player can't play that files but it was easy enough to find an app that could read that file type!The instructions are pretty extensive. There's a lot of "commands" or button presses and light signals to remember but if you save the instructions or use it often enough to memorize them you'll be good to go!

I wanted this pen mainly to catch things randomly while I’m out and about, i done that with this camera pen while out in my canoe journaling! When I got home and uploading the million photos I couldn’t stop taking while on the lake, my first thought was how amazing such a little thing takes photos! I’m very impressed with the camera portion of this pen.The other thing is voice recording, completely my fault on the quality I received as I through the pen in my purse while at a court hearing 😂🤦🏼‍♀️ So don’t do this. As when I held it in my hand or attached it to the notebook, the quality of it was clear!! Seriously though I’m very impressed with this product and plan to buy another for my “spy” of a daughter for Christmas. Lol
