MTN Gearsmith New Replacement Umbrella Canopy for 9FT 8 Ribs, Color: Tan/Beige (Canopy ONLY)

I had to modify the center hold down because the hole was too small in the center of the canopy. But, the hole was not cut larger in size. The canopy fits a little loose when opened all the way so the ribs on my umbrella must be a little short. The replacement works and provides shade. I got what I was after and did not have to buy a new complete umbrella.

The price is what won us - but my hubs tells me that the center section isn't centered properly. He had to completely re-work the center for it to fit. He told me after the fact or I would've returned it. But he is super handy like that and knew he could fix it. But for something brand new he shouldn't have ever had to do so.It looks good - lightweight nylon, decent replacement - and perhaps ours just wasn't caught by quality control -or because it was technically defective, perhaps that is why it was so inexpensive. Not sure.

Although these certainly aren't the greatest quality canopies out there, you just can't beat the price. I didn't expect them to last the entire summer, so I bought some extras. They were so inexpensive I didn't mind if I had to throw them out in the fall. Not only did they last the whole summer, they are still in great shape and I plan on using them again next year I bought the lighter color since I knew they would start fading immediately, and they did. I would not recommend buying anything but a very light color, they will fade substantially during the first year. But again, at the low price you can replace them every year.

In hindsight I would have purchased an entire new umbrella locally, at the same price I paid on Amazon for just a replacement canopy. The fabric of the item received wasn't any better, which was a disappointment. It also is a bit too loose on my umbrella frame. However, the grommet at the top is a nice feature and will prevent wear and tear on the top of the canopy.

My original canopy was faded,worn,eventually tearing and falling off. I saw this canopy and ordered it thru amazon. It is soft material and easy to place on the frame(remember to count the arms). For the price it is a great canopy and more. I am glad I purchased this canopy.

(1) Color doesn't match photo when ordered. The online color looks off-white, whereas the actual product is light brown.(2) Construction is cheap and flimsy. Thread ends hang all over the place. The hole at the top is rough-cut and doesn't contain a grommet to keep from fraying.(3) On the positive side, the shipping and delivery met expectations.This product is inexpensively priced, but you get what you pay for.

it does the job, it's thin material but at this price it's worth it.

It fits very well and the price was well worth it! My table looks complete again.
