Guarding Diana - Protecting The Princess Around the World

Another gem from Ken
Diana's world was truly a safe place when her trusty PPO Ken Wharfe was by her side. Ken had to ensure a relationship of complete trust between him and Diana to keep her in her apparently seemfree bubble, and it would turn out that Ken became a trusted confidante and true friend to Diana and her boys.Ken organised her much needed holidays, giving her and the boys as much privacy as he possibly could from the ever chasing press rat pack - indeed, when you read he was largely responsible for keeping the young boys entertained on holiday, in ways Charles could never have done for lack of imagination on his part, it makes you realise that Ken, in his unassuming way, provided more fun and adventures for William and Harry than they could have ever wished for - indeed in a lot of ways he was much more a father figure to them than Charles. Can any of us imagine their father chasing and grabbing giant toads so the boys could race them for pocket money, or leading his ' troops' the boys in their ' war on the press' when they filled balloons with water and catapulted the press with water bombs? No, it was Ken who filled their days with fun, kind man that he is.Again, as with his first book, we get unique glimpses of the lengths he went to in order to allow Diana some normalcy in her turbulent life - such as a solitary but safe walk along a deserted beach, something she treasured, and something we who still love Diana should thank him for.Twenty years on, Diana is still as loved and fresh in our minds, and I thank Ken for sharing his treasured memories of his time with her - if you remember more, please do share them with us!I still firmly believe Diana would still be alive today if Ken had been allowed to stay at her side.

Nice book…
…but you may want to skip it if you're on a tight budget and have other Wharfe books. Nice pictures (you've seen most if not all of them before) and the written part is interesting (but you may have read much of the content before) but not all that much that's really "new".except for, I think, Mr. Wharfe's statement that he doesn't believe the conspiracy theories on Diana's death. You learn about the holiday/vacation trips they went on while Wharfe was guarding the Princess, might or might not be worth your money.
