Followed directions, works GREAT.
I read all of the reviews and took note of the problems people had. I could see how people would have trouble. But I followed all of the directions, used the manufacturers recipe and my little machine worked GREAT. I did use a piping bag and I think that also contributed to my success. Oiling properly and using the correct amount of batter seem to be key. They are small but perfect for one person. Freezing for toasting later is a great way to use the extra. They also make great ice cream sandwiches.

Mini sized bubbles of bubble waffle.
If you read the description and measurements correctly, you’ll know how small it is. It’s 5 inches across overall and each bubble is 3/4 across. The waffle is 1inch larger than a dash waffle maker. Both are 350watts.Unless you buy a commercial full size version, it’ll never be exactly like the ones in hawker stands in Hong Kong. Even the larger electric ones. Now that is out of the way, I really do like this maker. The instructions and recipes they offer are less than good. The print is tiny and recipes are for a ton of waffles. Nearly 3 cups of flour usually makes 12 mini waffles. So I found a better recipe that was easy to scale down. Once the preheat is done, it’s about 5 mins to cook. I flip my maker each minute to get the batter evenly on each side of the bubble. That’s the only thing I wished it would change. The larger sized maker has feet and heating indicators on both sides.Once finished it’s a fun waffle to eat. It’s worth a try if you understand what you’re buying.

doesn't heat enough
i let it heat up for over 10 min. and it still did not get hot enough to brown little waffles, plus the top would not stay open to pour in the batter. By the time you cook enough waffles to feed more than one person for breakfast it would be lunch time. best to buy a large bubble waffle maker

Waste of money
Save your dollars, this item is so small. Maybe the size of a frozen eggo waffle from the supermarket. Then it doesn't get hot enough to make a decent waffle. Takes too long to cook 1 item.

Perfect!
I needed a smaller size to put in my suitcase and take to my grandkids. This was perfect and made delicious mochi waffles!

Too small
Too small, like a toy. Didn't try it, just repacked & returned it.

A nice size waffle for a snack
I see a lot of people who seem unhappy with the size of the waffle this makes, but I knew right what I was getting into- I love waffles and pancakes and always wanted to try a "Hong Kong style" egg waffle. I'm still not convinced I have, but it's the right size for those times when I want something sweet without having to make a huge calorie bomb. It's kind of a bummer that there's no adjustable thermostat, and that it doesn't beep at you when it's done cooking, but those are features you're more likely to find on full-size wafflemakers. Using your own timer, you can get desirable results- the waffles pictured here were my first try, at 3 and 3.5 minutes each.It would be nice if it were balanced to flip over during the cook, so the batter has a better chance of settling evenly into the dome shapes. But again, mini wafflemakers are short on big features.I am a little disappointed that they claim you can store it on its side when not in use- I mean, it might have the right shape for that, but there's nothing to hold the thing shut, it just flops open unless you tie it shut with its own power cord. And I think it would have been nice if they included some unconventional Hong Kong street vendor-style waffle recipes with the cooker, instead of familiar stuff like buttermilk and chocolate. But hey, it does the job. For what little it does, they could stand to charge a little less for it, but the essential waffle experience is all here.
