Both price and quality of this offering are superior!
Ever since my childhood I have found heaviness to be fascinating. My father once brought me a few dozen spent 50MM jacketed slugs from the National Guard firing range. I carried them in my wagon for months. This kilo of tungsten is virtually the same nuclear weight as gold and uranium. At one kilo per 1.5" cube, a cubic foot would weigh over 1100 lbs.; and a cubic yard would exceed 16 tons. Imagine trying to pick up an eleven hundred pound basketball box! It becomes easy to imagine how a 1.5" cube, made of solid matter (without the normal volume occupied by electrons) would pass through any substance---like a bullet through water---until it arrived, I assume, at or near the center of the earth. As many who previously commented have said, this is an experience one does not encounter without handling something of its immense density: it is truly a unique and stimulating conversation piece for any home or work place---and especially in any academic environment.

Heavy Metal!
Very cool, definitely a conversation piece. Looks like in the pictures, comes with a little acrylic stand and a fact sheet. 38.1 mm on a side, the cube weighs exactly 1.000 kg. Contains 95% tungsten; the remainder is nickel and iron, making the cube slightly magnetic, conforming to aerospace grade HE395.No need to be disappointed that it's not pure tungsten - pretty much all tungsten is alloyed with something to make it machinable.

It's still heavy.
I'm constantly worried I got scammed and it's not truly tungsten. I think it's because my magnets stick to it so well they can pick it up(tungsten is not magnetic, maybe that's just because they are so strong, but maybe there's more iron in them than the percentage they advertise ... I wish I could just get some brittle pure tungsten with way less alloys in it.

A very heavy little cube
Just as it appears in the picture. Nicely machined and finished, and wonderfully heavy. Always draws a surprised reaction from people holding it for the first time. Very competitively priced relative to other tungsten cubes, spheres and cylinders. Note that this is an alloy of 95% tungsten and a combined 5% of nickel and iron. The cube is well-packed and comes with a technical information sheet.

He loves this stupid thing. I don't see the appeal
Got this for my husband for a gift. Why, you might ask... well, he's been asking for one for forever. Wrapped it inside a box inside a box inside a box...you get the idea.He loves this stupid thing. I don't see the appeal, just being honest. But it tickles his pink to show it off.

Product is just as promised.
Fantasastic quality, no noticable blemishes, great packaging, considerably cheap ($75) for its size. The cube is shockingly heavy for how small it is (1.5"x1.5"x1.5") almost as if it is fighting gravity.

Cheap, solid block of tungsten with some blemishes
Block measures 1.5" by 1.5" and it's definitely dense. Surface finish leaves a bit to be desired, with an overall brushed finish but several blemishes and shallow scratches throughout. Nothing deep and no chips or dings.
