It seems to hold better than my old one
It seems to hold better than my old one, but it is new so I have to see in the coming months although the buckle is tighter when connected (possibly because its new) and it does have a clawlike release buckle to keep it on hold from sliding off if accidentally pushed on one side, now compare to my old one it was rather smooth, also a bit loose when connected which would cause to unbuckle accidentally if I bend down enough which is really annoying.

WHAT A FIND !!
I had been using a "waist pack" for years, finding that it was so much better than one of those "huge" pocket books, But it comes a time when one has something special they love, something breaks and my buckle broke. It was the 1-1/2" size and I searched all over the "Triad" and could not find any no where. So I did the next best thing and came to my most favorite online store, Amazon, and was so lucky to have found it. I decided to play it safe and order 2 of them just in case I broke one again. It worked like a charm and was so thankful that Amazon had them. They were so much thicker and sturdier than the smaller ones that I had seen that weren't the correct size.

super incredible plastic buckle joins the ends of woven flat material together, fasterner worked first time right out of the box. easy to install, requires only light oiling and 2 d cell batteries ( not included). not considered safe for mountain climbing. manual version thumb and index finger operated.

It has 'prickles' inside that cause little problem when I try to use with my old buckle but I shaved them to work it out.The bigger problem is the guideline in the middle is too low, so sometimes buckle goes wrong way and stuck awkwardly.But it works. Just need some effort.

Will do the job just fine. Be sure to order the right size.
I think this buckle is fine. My problem is that I should have ordered a size smaller so I'm not really able to use it for the purpose I purchased it. However, I have it on hand in case I have the occasion to use it and it looks like it'll be fine. I'm going to order the smaller one.

One of the prongs broke on the buckle of my favorite pack; this one was a perfect match.
Exactly what I wanted. I should mention that the pack is one I've used 5-6 times a week, fastening the buckle each of those times, for ten or more years, so the buckle is quite durable. The delivery took a little longer than I would have liked, and I had to make another purchase of ($100+) to even be able to order it. So I give the service 3+ stars.
