Considering that I only paid $5.98 for this, with free shipping, I am satisfied with it. I actually bought it as a 'toy' for my 5-year-old granddaughter, and I am sure she will be happy with it. If I buy a stethoscope for use as an actual medical device, I will be willing to pay more for better quality.I can hear my heartbeat, but it is lower in sound than preferred. I can also hear breathes taken - better than the heartbeat, in fact. It does appear fairly sturdy.* In case you don't know (which I didn't) in order to hear anything you have to (lightly) place your finger over the hole on the opposite side of the 'chest piece' .

I don't know how this product would stand up professionally, but it is just what we needed here at home. Several of us in the house have heart problems, including tachycardia. This makes it easy to check when one of us has an episode. It would also be a good teaching tool for children to learn about the human heart and the human body.

Great for the cost! I bought this simple stethoscope to monitor my service dog's heartbeat. He's got bradycardia (slow heartbeat) and a heart murmur and I've had to be vigilant about checking him out throughout the day. Sometimes his heart beat gets so slow it's worrisome. If you're looking to use this for simple jobs, then you don't need a $500-1000 stethoscope. I think it's great, too, for parents, daycare workers, pet owners. Just remember to use the stethoscope in a quiet setting or press the ear pieces closer in. What's nice is that because I have my Prime membership, I got it in 2 days. That was a relief because my dog had been having problems that weekend prior.

I lost my $100 Littmann and bought this for work- I actually can hear lung sounds better from this very inexpensive stethoscope. It is a little hard on the ears. If you’re having trouble hearing, place your finger over the bell (there’s a tiny hole) it helps a lot.

We bought this scope for the mascot dog at our veterinary practice. It is attached to a thin black collar and he wears it around his neck while wearing a scrub shirt adapted for him. He serves to cheer worried clients, and worn staff.

I bought this just to use as props for play with my daughter. She has her toy sthetoscope & this is mine. It serves the purpose of why I bought it, can't beat the price. But I am giving it only 3 stars because I know most people who will buy this will use it for a medical purpose. You can hardly hear anything no matter how much you adjust it. It is very cute though & arrived quickly.

My son visited a classroom where instead of a plastic stethoscope from the standard toy doctor kit, they had a real stethoscope that worked well to listen to a heartbeat. I was enamored of the idea, and found this on Amazon to fit the bill just fine. They say the toy stethoscopes can hear the heart too, but that's baloney. This is a great addition to a kids' doctor kit. Only problem is, now that I didn't buy the classic toy doctor's kit, I don't have a good pretend blood pressure cuff and I won't be buying a real one of those too!
