I am rereading this for a book club. I first read this book when I was about 11 years old and absolutely adored it. Anne as a character is great, particularly as she gets into scrapes and battles. However, on the reread I no longer think that eleven year olds would like it. The book is full of description as well as character development and plot but youngsters don't like details about trees, red roads etc in my opinion. A book for good readers then who like sassy main characters and don't get too upset by the unexpected death of a major character.

Happy with that book as described.

A charming family story

I bought this book together with another few from the same collection, and they're all so beautiful lined up, worth it to be in your collection! Beautiful golden foil as the title, it shines and I think it looks very nice! The artist who drew the covers did a very good job!

Purchased for daughter as was on her summer reading list.

Very pretty book, nice size and print is not so small. This would not be a size to put in your purse though, it is too big for that, but it could fit in a book bag with other stuff.

I bought this classic that I never got the chance to read before. The story is very enjoyable and this book actually compiles the first two “Anne” books although the title is “Anne of Green Gables” (the first one). This edition haa a nice cover and art to it.

This was a gift, not for me.
