It was not very easy to put it on
This is way to expensive for what it is! It was not very easy to put it on! Would not buy it again!

Learning curve but looks great! Read my tips before you do yours :)
So, I debated for a year to get this borderlines makeoverkit and finally did it. Just finished installing it today and am very pleased with the outcome. This went onto an inground pool. I did spend a lot of time (8 hours) to do a 16x32 pool with 8 ft steps. Now I have to tell you that I have lots of experience wallpapering and getting around inside corners with paper so this was fairly easy for me. But I was meticulous and did it myself. So I was up and down, getting my own supplies and moving along the wall as it progressed. I could stand in the shallow end, but had to use cushions to lay on to do an upside-down application for the deep end. I know that doesnt sound easy but it wasnt bad at all. My face was right in the action.I have a few tips for the Mardigras pattern. There is a gray edge on either end (one edge is slightly wider than the other)... and the pattern blends seemlessly if you end each strip application with the wider gray side. Thus you start each 2 foot strip with the smaller gray edge slightly overlapping the bigger edge. I recognized this pattern after several strips were applied and so 85% of my pool is done correctly. If you start with the wider side first, you will have noticable vertical lines every 2 feet. I mention this to help someone else who is starting the process. Also, I found that going around corners with an air bulge (in the origional liner) went smoother if I provided a few snips to ease it and prevent wrinkles. Almost like adding darts to a dress. I do not know if that voids the warranty, but the outcome is great and it can be made to lay smoothly. Otherwise you would be very frustrated and have wrinkles.....I did have a few small wrinkles along the way....but barely worth mentioning. Did I mention I took my time?Another tip is to pull back only 2-3 inches of backing to begin each strip. While holding the "tail" straight and lining the pattern up you can press it into place and then I removed 6-8 inches of backing to work the strip along. The small yellow paddle was perfect to run over the entire piece and smooth/seal the edges down tight. Once it is pressed into place...you will not be able to get it back off easily. But I was able to work with the first 2-3 inches and reapply it several times to get it perfect before pressing it with the paddle. I also found that if I ripped 90% of the wax paper backing off toward the end.... but left the last 2 inches, I had a nice finish to each strip. If not, you end up with a piece of long wax paper getting in your way when trying to get it finished off right. That last end tab of paper prevented me from pulling and distorting the pattern also. I gave this product 4 stars just because the video instructions did not give any helpful tips. Just clean the surface good, Use 50% alcohol to finish cleaning your old liner and dry it well before the border application.Overall I am happy with the product and hope to get a few additional years from my origional liner with this purchase. I am so glad to not see that worn faded mess on my pool walls again this year. I plan to give updates on this product as far as durability.
