Perfect for my board
Not sure why the bad reviews... this was perfect... it even came with and adjustment liner that can go around the dart board in case your board is slightly smaller than 18. Although the board I bought from another seller was sold as an 18 it really was smaller than 18. I ended up using the liner that came with it and it was perfect! Nice snug fit. Will save my wall due to it's thickness and fit! It looks nice. In all it was a good purchase for the $. Glad I bought it :-)

Only 17.75" instead of 18" advertised
I bought this Viper Defender II to fit my 18" dartboard also purchased. The Defender II advertises for 18" dartboards (also on the box) but actual measurement is 17.75" so it fits tightly to the board. Other than the small gap (this was the worst one of the four joints in my picture) I am pleased with the Defender and the ability to protect my wall.

Sturdy and thick
Easy to apply, but you'll definitely need the foam trim tape that's included or you'll have a gap between the foam and your board. I didnt want the logos showing, so I installed the pieces backwards. Provides great protection for my surrounding wall and isn't obnoxious looking.

Stops damage
Thick protection. I had to cut the outside down to a 24" square so I could fit it in my cabinet. So really it's best to mount your board against the wall, no cabinet. The dartboard itself will hold the Defender in place. It also makes it look nice around the board.

Junk as is, but can be used if you are willing to repurpose it.
Oversized inside diameter, felt falling off when taking out of the box. Complete piece of crap. The foam inside however, is perfect for a dart board. So, I used only the foam and designed my own dart board surround using some foam strips, extra burgundy felt clothe from when I covered my pool table, some cherry finished corner moulding which I cut to size, and some rubber cement. So this piece of garbage was converted in a custom framed surround that is hanging in my billiards room and accents the pool table brilliantly
