Premium Squirrel Food - 3 lb.

We moved into a new house and I'm guessing the previous tenants fed the squirrel. Day one and the squirrel came right up to me, placing its paw on my foot and begging. Fearing she would attack me if I did not give it food, I tossed her some raw almonds. Then she started begging at the door. Knowing she had just had babies, I caved. I'm a sucker for single moms raising babies. I wanted to give her more than just almonds, so I bought this bag of pumpkin seeds. Now, if I'm sitting outside and there is no food in the bowl, she jumps in my lap to beg. I've been had. I know. Now I have to live with the fact I am a slave to a little furry rodent.

I carry a baggie of these pumpkin seeds with me to feed the squirrels and the handfuls I put out by the trees always disappear by the following day when I return. They seem to really love them. Will buy again.

This is basically dried pumpkin seeds, otherwise known as pepitas. I can't judge the flavor since I have a habit of not eating food designed for backyard animals, but the squirrels will eat it. They are not gourmets, though, and prefer regular squirrel food (their favorite is Wagner's 62046 Backyard Wildlife Food, they eat 8-12 pounds of this per month), but they are happy with the Chuckanut Premium as well. Also this is less likely to be eaten by the birds, leaving more for the squirrels.

Yes, our neighborhood Fox squirrel loves these pumpkin seeds. In fact, he/she pulls out the pumpkin seeds from the squirrel feed mix that I added them to and only eats the pumpkin seeds. So much for trying to give this little guy a well-rounded diet! I cannot find these seeds locally so am delighted I could purchase them from Amazon.

The squirrels in my area don't even sniff at this stuff. Its says premium pumpkin seeds. I think that this is a poor description. If these are pumpkin seeds, it is a dried out shell of the seeds. No substance. I suppose its not for all squirrels. Unfortunately also, this item can not be returned. Now having experienced this product, would recommend purchasing what you KNOW squirrels will eat - real nuts and seeds, not this seemingly manufactured stuff.

4 out of 5 of our backyard squirrels love it. Plus a variety of birds, they love it too!!!!!! Oh and the 5th squirrel likes it slot he just has love issues.

I’m pretty sure they have taken the seeds out of some sort of mythical micro pumpkins bc I’ve never seen a pumpkin that produces this size seed. Even tiny pumpkins make bigger seeds. They’re so small it’s odd. Squirrel still eat them but they aren’t too picky during winter 😕
