The Inkheart Trilogy Box Set

Enjoyed series

My son and I both loved the books, and I read them every night before he slept. He was 10 when I bought them, and 11 when we finished them. Super for those kids who love fantasy, and for parents too. I was not bored reading them out loud, we both looked forward to early nights with the Inkheart Trilogy.

Great stories, nicely written and nicely presented in this collection. This set made a great birthday gift for an 11 year old.

I purchased this set at the recommendation of the Kindergarten-through Grade 6 teachers at my granddaughters school. She is a high interest and high level reader (while only in grade 3 currently she reads at a grade 8 or 9 level). This set of books is described by teachers as not too "dark" for a younger reader. All children seem to be into fairy tale type reading. She is getting these for Christmas so I will give you her view point in a few months.

This is a nice set of satisfyingly thick books. Though I bought this for a young reader (5th grade)who has already read the series, she will love having the whole set of paperbacks contained in the attractive cardboard box. My 5th grader devoured these books - she found them very exciting and involving. She was quite pleased that she read books of this thickness (500-600 pages). Looking at the material, I think I would enjoy reading them, too - and I just might borrow them from her! Having seen the movie "Inkheart," I know it's a good storyline with good versus evil and good winning. I'm a big Tolkien fan and think others who enjoy Tolkien would also like the Inkheart series. Good reading for precocious middle schoolers through adult.
