Low cost and it does decent job but the handle is not comfortable

Smaller than I expected . works OK the get the melon cut from the rind but I used a knife to slice the pieces.

I've owned several of these type of products, but never this brand. They break. This one has a feature I like, the pin in the end is flattened on both sides to help retain it. However, it gets a 2-start review for me because it has a poor functionality due to how short it is. There isn't enough handle for my hand. Second, the overall length is short enough that you can reach down into any decently sized local melon without getting your hands in the melon. That is not sanitary. This item really needs to be 4-5" longer total. Some of the length should be in the handle, the rest in the slicing/holding portion. I dislike leaving 2-star reviews, but this product just came up short.

Kind of flimsey.. hard to handle. it's easier to just use a knife.

This was a total waste of my money.I was looking forward to using this item....tried ONCE .. it broke before I could even get through half the melon.The front piece of metal came completely off the unit leaving it basically a pair of oddly shaped tongs. I tossed it.The most annoying to me is that I bought two, one for me and one for my daughter.
