Bobby Flay 12-in. Pre-Seasoned Cast-Iron Skillet

My Daughter got a bobby Flay 12 inch Cast iron skillet for Christmas from one of her friends. She was in college so she did not use it much so she left it home. So i seen it sitting there, i kind of chuckled i have 6 lodges i have been using for many years. I was thinking this cheap pan will be a pain so i started using it for her to get a good season on it for her. Well i love that skillet... Its my go to cast iron when i make steaks. I put it in the oven for 35 mins on 500 heat the pain all the way through to keep it from having hot spots and toss it on the flame on med high with 2 or 3 table spoons of oil and tap the steaks with a paper towel i keep my steaks out for the time the pan is in the oven. It puts a beautiful crust on my New York strip steaks. Now shes out of school and took her pan back so i had to go get another one, it works just as well as the other pan did.. I hope this helps

I have this one and a cheaper 14" Bayou Classic and this one wins hands down. Thicker and heats up more evenly.

My skillet is very heavy and I love it! Nice and big to fry chicken, shrimp, gravy steak for my big Italian family. I clean with hot water and a scrubber and it's good to go - I think the other person who wrote a review about their skillet being thin and broke must have got scammed with a knock off.
