Metal Banana Holder - Satin Nickel Stand Holds a Bunch of Bananas - Sleek, Modern Design - Also Ideal for Headphones & Other Items If you read any of my reviews than you are aware I am ill. I always look for the finest ingredients made with whole foods, all natural, organic and no GMO's. I'm very careful when selecting organic and all natural too, as there are many things that are all natural that are gross. In my smoothies with all of these wonderful ingredients I ALWAYS put a banana in it, and if they start to turn, I get banana bread! (miss moms) The problem was, I make all of this in a makeshift kitchen upstairs in the bedroom and adjoining bathroom, complete with mini fridge and microwave. I did not have one of these stands though and my banana's were going bad the next day! I started looking and oh my gosh, I almost thought they didn't make them anymore, then I found this bad boy and it jumped into my cart!I have been looking for one of these for way too long, only to continuously be disappointed until the other day! There it was, the holder of yellow bananas, no more bananas going bad the next day. When I got it I wasn't quite sure what it was. It is pretty tall, not over the top tall, but you can buy those really large banana's and this will hold them and they will not touch your counter until you're down to the last one!I was really impressed by the look of the holder as well. We have a mostly stainless kitchen even though I am currently using this in my makeshift kitchen for now. Then when I saw what it was made of, I was concerned. This was a 5 star review, that I made a 4 star. This will either go back up to a 5 or go down. Nickel is typically not food safe, and shame on me for not realizing this wasn't stainless. I need to find evidence that the Nickel won't leach into the bananas, or find out if there truly is food safe nickel. A quick google didn't turn up anything, so this is going to be a research project. This concerns me greatly as my cancer came from an exposure not genetics. For now I will give them the benefit of the doubt, but will be checking as soon as I complete this.I have seen some reviews stating that this was made really cheaply and the base was glued on. This is not the case on the one I received. Everything is soldered together, and it is done in such a way that you can not see the weld. I also read people who as soon as they put bananas on it, that it fell right over. I don't know what bananas you are buying or if this has been redesigned since, but I currently have 8 large bananas hanging on this thing and it is sturdy as heck. We did get this at a discounted price for an honest review. I love that I have a banana holder now. I don't love that it is made out of nickel, may not be safe and I may need to return. I will leave it at 4 stars, if safe it goes right up to 5, if not I will explain when I update. Fingers crossed it is foodsafe

Topsy Turvy Banana holder.
I love it, but it's very topsy turvy. Once I get it balanced with the bananas it's all good and does what it's suppose to do. The frame construction seems to be good, but the bottom needs more weight. I continually knock it over with the slightest tap. Again, it's great construction, and when balanced, works well. I received this product at a discount for my honest review.

no longer guilty.
My bananas used to be potassium-packed refugees on my cold countertop. The more I thought about them, the harder it was to live with myself. It was all my fault. I was keeping them there. I was the guilty one. How could I raise my children to love others when I was treating an innocent form of life with such hostility? I couldn't stop buying bananas and let my kids suffer a potassium deficiency, so I prescribed myself a heavy dose of ignorance and let the bananas stay stranded. Days turned into weeks, weeks turned into years and I slowly began to accept my decision. Then a miracle happened.I was surfing the web to buy a sporty pair of chinos when fate invaded my afternoon with a typo. I was trying to type "sporty pair of chinos," but I accidently typed, "banana holder." (Can you believe it?) That's how I came across this magnificent product. Tears of awaited redemption polluted my symmetrical face and, for the first time, I truly forgave myself. Now my bananas hang above my countertop in pride.
