Great remote LED light - 3D effect Star Wars
The media could not be loaded. This is a brilliantly effective LED light in an R2D2 Star Wars design! The light consists of the circular base unit, USB power cable (it can also run on 3 x AA batteries - NOT supplied), remote control (battery supplied) and the top 3D R2D2 section which is effectively a piece of acrylic/Perspex cut into the shape of R2D2 with little lines etched into the material to form the relevant pattern of the character. To assemble, simply peel the protective sheet from the acrylic and insert this into the slot within the base unit. The fit is nice and tight (just don’t hold the light by the acrylic alone as it will come out of the base). When turned on, the base unit then shines the light directly up into the acrylic and this is picked up by lines in the pattern creating a very effective 3D looking image which appears to be floating above the base. The product emits a decent amount of light - perfect as a night light as this can also be dimmed. You can obviously use the remote control to cycle through the colour options, dim the light, choose one of four different modes and can also use the touch sensitive button on the top of the base unit to power on/off the unit and change the colour (short press turns it on then cycles through the colours and long press turns it off).I have opted to power this by batteries as the required position has no USB/Power socket nearby. It’s important to note the power cable does NOT recharge the unit - it is just a choice between battery power or USB, there is NO internal battery. It is also important to note that this product gives the ILLUSION of a 3D image only. It does not create an actual 3D image! In terms of value for money, I think it is a little overpriced. If it had an internal rechargeable battery, then I think the current price of £13.99 would be spot on but as it stands, I think this should be around the £10 mark so it is just overpriced for me.For that reason, I have given the unit 4 stars but if it were to be reduced to region of £10, this would be a 5 star product!!I hope you found this review helpful!

R2-D2
The media could not be loaded. A light perfect for any Star Wars fan, priced at a cheap and cheerful £12.99. You get a base and a acrylic plate with an image of R2-D2 etched on, you need to remove the brown paper backing and then insert into the base. This will give the appearance of a 3D image when illuminated. The light is powered by a micro USB charger, simply connect to power supply and use either the button at front to switch on and control or the remote included, which comes with a battery. You can also place 3xAA batteries into base instead of usb lead, I tend to use rechargeable ones as more cost effective than replacing constantly. The light can be one solid colour or be change to offer a rainbow of colours. You can also control the light change from fade, strobe or smooth.Being a fan myself I do like this image and it sits neatly in my lounge for all to see.
