This is a great quality bird bath. This is in no way flimsy. The plastic is thick and doesn't look like it'll break. There are no issues with ours as far as scratches or cracks as mentioned in some of the other reviews so don't let that deter you from trying it. I bought the small size and this is still huge, perfect for my parakeets. The only issue is that when I attach it to the outside of the cage, I have to use a little twist tie to keep the door from sliding down. But that is a very simple fix and no significant issue in my eyes.
