It Worked - So Far
I don't understand how this small part fixed my dishwasher!! It would not drain and left water in the bottom. Sometimes it ran into the floor. Install took no time at all.All the bolts are 1/4". Not damn metric.Update - 1 week and dish washer still working and no leaks.Update - 2 weeks and still working.Update - 4 weeks and water is once again in the bottom. Can't afford a new on at this time due to Bidenomics. I'm going to try dishwasher cleaner.

Dishwasher Works!
My dad asked me to purchase this for him. My parents' dishwasher hasn't worked in a couple of years. My mom has been asking for a new one, but my dad didn't want to buy one. He finally did some googling and figured out what he thought the issue was. My dad is NOT a handyman at all. He has always hired someone to fix things in our home, or asked my oldest son to fix something for him. He got this part and fixed it himself. He said it was easy! The dishwasher works like new again.

Heck yeah.
My dishwasher is old. It was my grandpas dishwasher, so maybe 15, 20, 25 years old. I dont even know, he never used it. The water line was shut off when I inherited his house, so when I turned the water line on I was overjoyed that it still worked.A little over a year into use, it stopped draining. I watched hours of youtube videos on what could be wrong and how to fix it. I took so many thing apart, checked filters, did a bakingsoda+vinegar rinse, nothing worked. Until i came upon a video about this little doo-hickey. This was my final soloution, i had tried everything else and I was considering buying a brand new dishwasher, plus installation and haul away ($600+).Yall. This $20 part fixed it IMMEDIATLY. With thw holidays coming up, i am so over the moon that I can spend my money on gifts instead. I am so glad I am so stubborn and didn't give up until all the soloutions were exhausted. I am so glad I am independant and figured it out without calling a plumber. I am so glad this part was so cheap, easy to install, and fast to get here.Standing ovation. 5 stars. Fudge yeah.

The dishwasher is draining again
This little piece did the trick when my dishwasher stopped draining. I did some online research to help my troubleshooting then crossed my fingers when I placed the order that this piece would solve the issue. Thankfully, it did.The plastic felt like it was cheaper quality compared to what was already in there so not sure how long it will last. However, with the low price and fast shipping it wouldn't be bad if I needed to replace again in the future.

Fixed Water Not Draining
The water in my dishwasher wasn't draining. Found a YouTube video explaining that I needed to replace this part. Took very little time and fixed my problem. So far so good.

It worked!
Over the past couple of years I noticed a good amount of water remained in my dishwasher after the drying cycle was done. It started as just a bit and got worse over time. I could hear the pump was running and could see water dumping into my disposal but it was not properly sensing that there was still water in the basin and would shut off before all of the water was drained. Running the reset function (press and hold the start button for a few seconds) would further drain some of water but still left a lot. Repeating the reset function would not completely drain the basin - again, it was not properly sensing the water in the basin. I checked all the lines, cleaned the traps, and the problem persisted and got worse. It was so bad recently that the water left in the basin was not clean and the dishes were not getting clean because the dirty water was not draining out of the dishwasher.Well... This Check Valve solved the problem! The valve is accessible from the inside of the basin (no need to pull dishwasher from under the counter). At the rear of the basin four small hex bolts hold the plastic filter in place and the valve in under the filter. You'll need a pair of pliers to get leverage on the plastic tabs to unscrew the old valve. When I removed the old valve it was obvious that the rubber flap had deteriorated significantly and the valve was not able to make a seal. This now made sense as the flap had probably been deteriorating over time and the worse the seal, the more water was being left behind. From what I can tell, this valve, when sealed, opens the drain at the lowest point in the basin. When it is in the open (not sealed) position, it serves as a overflow drain as it sits about 3" above the lower drain. So the worn seal allowed only some of the water to drain (and not overflow and flood the kitchen) but did not allow the lower drain to open.Great DIY fix for $13 and about 10 minutes of my time.

Perfect fit, good replacement.
My dishwasher had begun to leave dirty deposits on the dishes that were stacked in the corners, looking like dried on dishwasher soap. Took the filter out of the back to discover this valve all full of dirt. Cleaned it out and found that the rubber seal had turned hard and sticky and was being drawn up into the hole it seals and getting stuck there against the spring. The valve just unscrewed, used an old toothbrush to clean the threads, screwed this one in and presto! The pump no longer circulates incorrectly and my dishes are all cleaning properly again. Did require a bit of disassembly of the inside of the dishwasher (7mm bolt heads in this case) so beware, there will likely be tools required and definitely crouching inside the dishwasher to fit this.

Authentic part - extended the life of my dishwasher
So my dishwasher was still running through the cycle and I could hear the water but my dishes were staying dirty. The water just seemed to be only sitting at the bottom of the dishwasher. I couple of people told me that I should buy a new dishwasher as it was old. Well... I took a look, and figured out how to open it up (easier than it seemed) and lo and behold this little part was cracked. Well I bought a new one here on Amazon - and replaced it. Problem fixed!!

Yay! ... our portable dishwasher is draining again
Our old portable dishwasher (Moffat Quiet 2) was slowly dribbling like it had a massively enlarged prostate. Took off the screen assemblies (bottom of washing area), removed the old part where the rubber seal had deteriorated to a nub and couldn't redirect water flow, cleaned out the stuff stuck under where this part sits, installed the new part, then cleaned out the trap that holds the chopping blade and removed stuff tangled around the blade, put all the screens back on and wow ... water now blasting out on the drain cycle, working like it was new.
