Large-page-size, informative, illustrated, historical picture book
Throughout semiconductor history, Texas Instruments (TI) was, for many years running, the biggest and best semiconductor design and manufacturing company in the World. Today (2020), TI is a World leader in analog semiconductors. TI was not some kind of ‘accident’ that happened in Silicon Valley but originated in Dallas, Texas, USA. TI originated out of a geophysical service and instrument company whose employees had a pressing need for electronic components that were smaller, lighter, more reliable and consumed less battery power than the components of the day (electron valves/tubes).This book (ISBN 087074502-6) is a large-page-size, informative, beautifully illustrated, historical-timeline picture book, consisting of seventy-five short chapters. Each chapter describes and illustrates an event in TI History, or a topic of importance to TI. The picture-book style makes for easy and entertaining reading. The illustrations are mainly photos from TI History and there are some diagrams. It is the kind of book that you would like to put on your coffee table for guests to see, and to read a few chapters yourself each night.

Amazing, lots of interesting stories around the history of Texas Instruments
A very colorful history of Texas Instruments. My motivation was to learn more about what lead Jack Kilby to invent the integrated circuit and to understand how big companies motivate to invent the future. Information about competitors and historical context could be more. Since TI has no exhibition about their plants an achievements in Dallas this is a great book for all people interested in TI.

Good read for engineers and non-engineers alike
Lots of interesting stories from the pioneers of Texas Instruments. This is not the story of TI, but collected stories of the men and women who engineered the beginnings of the computer world as we know it today. Good read for engineers and non-engineers alike. Not science-y, not tech-y, not engineer-y; just interesting, often humorous vignettes from those who were there.
