Built very well!!
Build quality was very good. I bought this because it was much cheaper than some of the other brands. I am using it as a screening filter to my Waterdrop WD-WHF21-PG. I am very impressed at how much sediment it collects. It also flushes out easily with the control valve release. I am using both this and the Waterdrop filters strictly for my aquariums so I have it plumbed for a hose and not as a whole house filter system. (Only the best for my fish). I back flush it out after every use which is overkill but it is easy to do and I like to see how much sediment it can collect after each use. Highly recommended filter!!

Great idea. No bypass valve
This is a great idea as a prefilter for your whole house (or RV, etc).My setup is this sediment fliter prior to a whole house filter. The sediment filter helps prolong the life of the whole house filter, and both of them working together helps protect appliances from buildup, and also cleans up the shower, bath, and dishwasher water a little bit. However, neither of them make the water safe for drinking (they don't work for micro plastics, fluoride, and a huge range of other things your municipal water doesn't test for). So I have a reverse osmosis set up in the basement, feeding water to a spigot at the sink and also to the fridge for water and ice. This sediment filter is as easy to install as a whole house filter, which is to say it's a pretty easy DIY project. I strongly recommend PEX - even if you don't have PEX anywhere else, the tools are inexpensive, the PEX pipe itself is dirt cheap, and it's worth the investment even for small jobs like this.Maintenance is fairly simple, just twist the bottom and the built-in blade scrapes the debris off the filter. Then use the flush valve on bottom of flush the debris into a bucket or drain. However, debris will build up on the mesh filter, you will need to remove it periodically and scrub with a toothbrush. This mesh filter should last several years, but at this point the longevity is unknown - replacements are about $15.However, the major shortcoming is that this does not have a built-in bypass valve. If there is any a problem - if any part of it breaks, if the housing bursts due to frozen water, if you drop it and it cracks, etc - without a bypass valve, your entire water supply is down until you repair it.If you see a spin down sediment filter with a built-in bypass valve, I recommend checking into it, because it saves money and install time. Otherwise I highly recommend building a bypass system - again, it's not that difficult with pex, and the only additional cost is a 3rd shutoff valve (you should already be budgeting for a shutoff valve at either end of this filter).Other comments:At $30, the price on this is pretty unbelievable. Great value.I have seen debates about how many microns of filtration you should get. Some people install two of these, with a larger micron first (like 60 or 80), then a small micron second. None of these should result in a decrease of water pressure. It comes with threaded fittings for 3/4 or 1", which should fit the vast majority of American homes.

Works
Used on my washing machine . Lot of sediment in my water feed . Was a real pain getting to the back of washer to pull feed line screen . This makes it much better. It is also easy to clean .

Filters alot
This filter really filters out the particles, a little too much for what I needed but I can use it elsewhere

Not good for hot water
On the listing, says can be used for water heater, temps up to 176 degrees. Instructions included say it is only good for up to 40C, which is only 104 degrees. List it right please. I hate wasting my time returning items that have incorrect information.

Works well and easy to keep clean with the spin down feature.
Seems good so far! Engineered well and had more features than I expected. Came with several different ways to connect it.

Great
Had it for about a month. Didn't notice any drop in water volume

Scraping function is inadequate.
The scraper for this doesn't clean the filter nearly as well as my other spin down sediment filters.
