This mold is bigger than expected and it works very well. Can’t wait to try them fishing.

This mold is well made and has great detail. The only part that is difficult to fill are the antenna. Without vent holes at those appendages, it is a tough fill. There are plenty of vent holes on the legs, claws, and eyes that make it fill easily. The eye vent holes seem a little unnecessary.The large number of vent holes help for a complete fill, but they are a little difficult to clear after each use. I use a piece of guitar string do punch the stuck silicone out of the vent holes.With a mold that has this much detail, you really need to make sure you keep the vent holes cleared and keep it oiled. Fortunately, thet send a small quantity of oil for your use, that will actually last you quite a while. I use a brush to spread the oil thinly and evenly through the mold.As I have stated with the other stone molds I have reviewed by this manufacturer, a complaint I have is about the instructions. Part of the instruction states that each mold is tested. I do not see how if the mold was actually tested there would still be residual CNC dust within the mold. I did not see any oil or silicone remaining before I used it.

I highly recommend this high quality stone mold to all anglers who would like to make their own soft plastic lures.

This mold works well as is. There is a tendency for the antennae areas not to fill well, but putting some soft plastic in this area before closing the mold halves makes it work better. The result is a nice fishing lure that is durable. The nice thing is that more can be made as needed since the mold is readily available. This is also a good opportunity to experiment with different colors and see which works best in your area. The product description is accurate. It arrived quickly and without any issues. I would get it again, and I have ordered additional molds for lures, which has become a nice hobby.

The mold appears to be well made and is reusable. The kit also includes the oil so you have everything you need to get started for the mold.Overall, my first try was slightly messy (I opened the mold after the injection too soon) however the second try had a smooth bug that I plan to use on my next fishing trip. Using the mold allows you to use whatever color you choose when injecting soft plastic is a fun experience as you get to use what you make on your next trip.

My husband loves to fish and he always has pieces of old lures laying around. We have seen lots of people make their own with molds using up old pieces so we're excited to try it out. This mold is good size and is really sturdy. It was better than expected.
