If you want to use a compass, this is the best compact companion piece that I have found.
This is something any person who carries a compass into the woods should have. All the orientieering tools you would ever need in one quick package. I think it is awesome. I would note that I havent had any issues, but I keep it sealed in a ziplock bag in my pack so that no dirt or dust will scratch the clear overlay templates.
