The Gallery 2021

I've been listening to DT since Haven but only recently listened to The Gallery as well as Skydancer. My favorite track is by far Lethe as well as the rest of the songs afterwards, and The Gallery of course. I feel like the first half or so doesn't hit me the same as the last half, and also because my intro to DT was with Haven and Projector. But it's still an excellent album, and I keep coming back to it the past week so it's definitely doing something right.

As you can probably tell by my username, I'm a massive fan of the "Gothenburg scene" of melodic death metal. This album right here is one of the genre-defining records of that movement, and in my opinion, the pinnacle of the genre and an absolute must own. You can make convincing arguments for The Jester Race by In Flames or Slaughter of the Soul by At The Gates and I will even entertain the argument (they are also amazing albums in their own right) but this here is my GOAT.

The gallery è il secondo album dei Dark tranquillity , tra i pionieri del death metal melodico di stampo Svedese insieme ad In Flames At the gates etc.. . Il disco segue il già ottimo Skydancer ma questo è , secondo me il loro migliore album e l'apice creativo della loro carriera . Le canzoni sono tutte molto belle , veloci e brutali ma anche melodiche ed eleganti allo stesso tempo . Uno degli album simbolo che rimarrà per sempre tra le opere piu belle di questo genere musicale . Acquisto obbligato per chiunque si avvicini a questa musica , questo capolavoro non deve mancare nella vostra collezione .

The gallery sea probablemente el mejor disco de la historia del death metal melódico, y para mi, fácilmente esta en el top 5 o top 10 de los discos que mas me gustan y escuchados en mas 30 años como entusiasta y coleccionista del metal mas extremo. La clave es la mezcla perfecta de energía, potencia, agresividad, y melodía combinados con uno de los mejores trabajos vocales que recuerde ahora mismo (voz, dicho de paso, mas cercana al black metal). Comprado el disco original en el 98, en cd con bonus tracks incluidas, no tuve la oportunidad de hacerme una copia en vinilo, así que no podía dejar de aprovechar la ocasión. Sin ser de lujo, es un remixed, gatefold, etc. Hecho en falta el cd que los de Century metia solían incluir, o un poster...Recuerdo que en aquella epoca era muy fan del Dominion de Ophthalamia, The coming of Chaos de Sacramentum, y el debut the Twin Obscenity, asi que por asociación, y por que también el estilo no se aparta demasiado, lorecomiendo para fans de estos grupos, y en realidad , para quienes aprecian la buena musical.Lastima que DT hayan cambiado tanto, aparte de "singles" sueltos..... pero nos queda esta joya immortal!!Leeeeeetheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
