MUST HAVE for home manual tranny oil changes
If you ever change your oil this is the cleanest method to do so.This pump goes into the normal 5-gallon buckets with a pump hole on the top. The spot to put the nozzle in after you're done was a great choice, just becareful when you push the pump handle back down because the oil drips out around the pump piston, if your pump isn't seated securely on the bucket, whatever fluid you are pumping will leak out onto the top of the bucket.Otherwise this pump is really worth the ~40 bucks you pay for. Don't bother with cheap-a$$ fluid transfer systems. The anti=kink hose is awesome and the hose nozzle fits right into the fill hole of 95% of all manual transmissions. It may be a little tough if you're doing an ATF Flush, but you should really be using a long funnel instead. This is the one to get.

Don't Waste Your Money
I bought this item to pump hydraulic fluid from a 5-gallon bucket with a standard opening. I never would have purchased it had I known that it doesn't attach to the bucket at all; I'm amazed anyone gave this product more than one star just based on that. It's a two-hand operation to hold the pump in the bucket and pump the fluid, so you have to come up with some way to prop the outlet in the desired location or get a helper. If that weren't bad enough, as in other reviews the one I received leaked--a lot--where the pump shaft goes through the housing. With oil so expensive these days, the leaking alone would be a reason not to purchase this product. I was just topping off the fluid; had I been pumping the entire 5 gallons, I think there would have been enough leakage to fill the top of the bucket.I do not recommend this pump at all, and see it as a complete waste of money. In fact, this product is so poor I plan to avoid anything made by Lumax in the future.

The reike adapter does NOT fit, but I fixed it
I bought this pump over a year ago. My reike spout adapter did not fit. On any given day, i have at least 8 different pails here and i tried it on every one. Nope. Tried it on new ones as they came in. Nope.I wrote to the company regarding this adapter issue, thinking it may have been an odd batch or that they’d fixed it since all these pumps went out. I offered to buy a new adapter! Never heard from them.So I got my dremel tool and used that to make the darn thing fit. It fits, it works. I actually love the pump because of the spout fitting into the side of the pump for draining back into pail - one doesn’t have to leave oil sitting in the hose.I’d still recommend this pump, but just know you’re going to have to modify the adapter with a dremel or similar tool.

Great for bulk 5 gallon oil
The pump works well. It was hard to press on the Royal purple 5 gallon container, but after slightly tweaking the metal ring on the container, it pressed on with a bit of pressure. No leaks.

Not good at all
It leaks from both ends and the interior spring already broke at one end in just one use. Does not screw on to a 5 gallon bucket, like it suggests. Do not recommend.*UPDATE WITH PHOTO: The metal spring is rusting on the inside! So disappointed!*

Works Fine
While I admit I would prefer that the pump screw onto the 5 gallon bucket, it’s not the end of the world like some reviewers would have you believe.I’ve now done 6 differentials and three transfer cases, by myself, without any issues or messes. The hose securely sits in the fill holes, allowing two hands to pump in gear oil. When this pump dies, I’ll get one that secures to the 5 gallon bucket. Until then, this one is just fine.

Possibly damaged during shipping?
Item looked distorted upon arrival, I used it a month or so later and it disintegrated at the Y and almost sent plastic into the oil I was pumping into my motor, I believe I caught it in time. Pump worked well, think this one was damaged prior and just couldn’t handle the stress at the Y where the tubing meets the pump body.

Excellent Pump
I service quick lube accounts with 5 gal pails of gear lube. All had been using some sort of cheap "bucket pump" that is very messy. This pump snaps on to the Reike spout ring so there's no need to take off the pail cover - a tough job in itself. No more mess and easy servicing. Perfect.

Excellent value
Works welk with coolant. Have not tried with anything more viscous.

Good pump, weak anchor
This pump is supposed to be used with a standard bucket but the clip that clamp on the bucket hole don't snap. The pump is good so i can use it for this, but i need to keep both and on the pump.

doesn't screw in to pail
this pump comes with an adapter to sit in the opening of the pail but it is loose and can fall out easily was a bit disappointed i was going to return it. I ended up reading a review further down the page that said someone had used a pipe nipple and that seemed to work good and secure it to the pail.
