The Savage Hills: A Tale of Terror and Revenge in Kashmir

A scintillating and riveting narrative
A beautiful narrative bringing to life the lesser known areas of terrorism. The travails of a soldier who continues with his missions with unabated motivation despite elusive success is indeed heart touching. In such a small book, Abhay has been able to present before us the genesis of terrorism in Doda-Bhadarwah region along with real life SF stories. The book encapsulates the lives of the people, soldiers and terrorists so vividly that it feels you are in the same place with them as the story unfolds. A recommended read.

Un-put-downable….
An amazing read, unlike most fiction on special forces, The Savage Hills is no glamour read - it’s down to basics but keeps you riveted till the end. If you’ve read the other two books by Abhay Sapru, you just have to pick this one. It is easy to see that the book is written from the heart, with no frills. A must read for all thriller-action fans.

Great books...keeps you curious till the end.
Very well written by the author. You could image the whole senerio in your whind virtue of the brilliant narration of author. The novel is balanced between the mujahiddins and the army as both the narratives have been given equal importance instead of just focusing on the sf storyline.Overall a good read and the first ever novel which i read completely.

As Real As it Can get
Would be difficult to call this fiction when it’s so realistic and based on the real life experiences of a Special Forces veteran .A fast paced read , difficult to put down once you start and the vivid descriptions of a beautiful land almost give you ringside views to the story .Little is written about the Indian army and even less by veterans who choose to write their memoirs. This is one such ‘must read’ for those who seek a glimpse into the hidden world of the Indian Army especially it’s Special Forces who are second to none .

Good book with interesting events. The fact that these event narrated by the author who himself was from Special forces and has lives these tales, makes it even more interesting. Raw and real as much as it would get. I recommend this book.ThanksLalatendu Das
