Eqiva Model N Electronic Radiator Thermostat with Boost Function and Quiet Compact Gearbox 102 x 55 x 60 mm

I bought two of these (UK model) for the living room a year or so ago and really like them so I bought 6 of these (European model) to do the bedrooms and reception rooms. As you can see from the image, using the European model means the writing appears 'upside down' when installed. I really don't mind as nobody looks at them but me. They will control the heating in each individual room and were a bargain. Super easy to install, just screw off your old TRV and screw this one on. Set up is straightforward; use the dial to set date and time and programme if you like. I have not programmed and set them to a fixed temperature instead; I'll leave the programming to the thermostat.

A bit of a faff to program but not too bad, and definitely worth it - plus there is a manual override. Saves money and good for environment. Note though that tends to make room higher than that displayed on its screen, so if you want the room 20 degrees you might need to program this to 17 or 18...

Used this for a fortnight. Setting up was fiendish, via the little hand-wheel and display. So many functions that are not even hinted at in the advert! Much credit to the designer and software engineer; there is even a quiet little operation to twitch the valve mid-summer to prevent the valve seating calcifying. Contrary to others comments, there are instructions in (good) English. I can however understand why some folks find this appliance hard to set, and patience is needed, particularly as you are kneeling on the floor in a position of near-praying to the thing when it is fitted. So, I will say for myself that I find this useful. There is certainly a need for a device like this that is separate from any 'smart' system. Note to the manufacturer: the complexity of the setting of this device is clearly needed to match the range of functions, but I suggest that a bluetooth interface to a mobile 'phone for setup/control would be better for your next version.

Basic electronic TRV but does the job. Only problem is every time I purchase a few, some will not work. Shows F2 after calibration run.

Easy tips install

To all those that get an F2 error on installation adjustment I found this was happening with about half of my Drayton TRV's. The foolproof answer I found and has worked well for years is to put a penny inside the TRV body before you install it. You can hold it there with a dab of silicone grease up the top while you are doing the installation.

I've used these for something like 8 years and they have been pretty well faultless. In fairness to their age and the heat cycling they are put through, the plastic mountings are now beginning to fail. However I will replace them with a like for like model and I am very pleased to see they are still available. These are primarily used in 4 bedrooms and as such they have a 15 degree set point overnight and admit heat at 7 am and then close at 8.30 am and again admit heat at 9 pm and close at 10.20 pm. Everyone wakes up warm and goes to be warm and sleeps cool. In reality the bedrooms seldom go much below 16/17 degrees so everyone is happy. The timing flexibility is exceptional and can be tailored according to a daily or weekly plan. Elsewhere in the house all the rads shutdown to 15 degree overnight but come on at between 5 to 7.30 am and stay on till 10 pm. Perhaps a bit of a fiddle to set up but once you understand the program architecture then in practice entirely dooable. Personally I am a big fan of controlled heating that ordinary trv's simply cannot provide and I would highly recommend these devices. They are well worth your time getting familiar with the programming and other set up functions and once done they will quietly get on with their job with no fuss or bother.

Este termostato va muy bien. Se puede controlar bien el perfil de temperatura horario y cambiarlo para los distintos días de la semana. Las pilas duran mucho, así que eso no es un gran problema (voy por el segundo año). Desde luego me estoy ahorrando un buen dinero con él, porque sólo calienta cuando me hace falta...

De thermostaat met timer doet wat hij moet doen en is niet duur. Als je de timer in een kamer gebruikt die maar een deel van de tijd verwarmt hoeft te worden is het zeker een aanrader. Omdat hij bij het automatisch open/dicht draaien best wat geluid maakt is hij echter niet geschikt voor een slaapkamer.

Har många av denna typ. Senaste modellen är mycket lätt att installera och programmera. Den motionerar själva radiator ventilen så att piggen ibte fastnar och ger önskad temperatur vid önskat tillfälle. Noterar dock att jag köpt denna för lite drygt 100 kr (i trepack) per styck tidigare. Nu kostar de 250 kr.

Di semplice installazione, conforme e funzionante rispetto alle specifiche riportate. Ho sostituito tutti i termostati dell'impianto di riscaldamento con questo cronotermostato e ho avuto una riduzione di circa il 15% sui consumi; e' una valutazione fatta sugli ultimi due mesi per cui mi riservo di ritornare sui consumi a fine stagione. Il cronotermostato e' facilmente programmabile, anche se mi sono permesso di contattare il produttore per alcuni suggerimenti e migliorie. Per i punti dove l'ingombro era problematico ho montato il cronotermostato in verticale utilizzando l'adattatore angolate oventrop, abbinamento perfettamente funzionante. Il motorino e' leggermente rumoroso, ma sopportabile anche in piena notte considerando che normalmente si attiva per 3-4 secondi. Lo consiglio; almeno la mia esperienza e' soddisfacente ed e' un prodotto con un buon rapporto qualita'/prezzo.
