Refillable Stainless Steel Nespresso Compatible Capsule for OriginalLine Machines

I tried to decide whether to buy this, or the much less expensive Refillable Nespresso Compatible Capsules - NEW Sealpod 2 Pack - Safe, Stainless Steel Reusable Nespresso Pods Work with Most Nespresso Machines system where I get two pods for $40, but have to buy packs of Sealpod Espresso Lids - Works with Nespresso Compatible Refillable Capsules or Spresso Luxe Espresso Compatible Capsules (100/Package)). I bought both and figured I'd write a comparative review. I have a Citrix machine, and both systems work perfectly. The MyCoffeeStar is a bit expensive, but outstanding quality and works as advertised I find (because of their smooth sides) that the Sealpods slot into the machine smoothly, whereas with the MyCoffeeStar, you have to quickly flick the lever to get them to slot in. Both fit perfectly, but the knurled, flanged sides of the MyCoffeeStar may create a stiffer action. I read one review that claimed that these don't work on the Citrix, but ... they do. You have to remember as well to slip the green rubber flange over the top (the Sealpods already come with this affixed) or it will not seat properly.I thought I might have to fill these with properly ground coffee, and was planning on filling them with my $500 Mazzer Mini Timer Black ETL Espresso Grinder grinder (messy). Instead, I was able to use my KRUPS GVX212 Coffee Grinder with Grind Size Cup Selection and Stainless Steel Conical Burr Grinder, Black (~$50) and the coffee brews perfectly, with the right amount of crema on the top of the cup. Use the finest grind; on some of the cheaper grinders (or any blade grinder) the grind will not be consistent, and you won't be happy with the pods. Use the Krups, which is affordable, but great quality. I use Lavazza Italian "Grand Espresso" Whole Beans (2.2 lb bag) beans, and these create a smoother, richer cup of espresso than most of the Nespresso capsules. For this reason alone, I would recommend getting a refillable system.

I was SO looking forward to this - saving money and cutting down on waste - figured the expense would be worth it.Unfortunately it did not perform as advertised. I spent about $20 on many different types and grinds of coffee - found out the hard way that all "espresso grind" is not the same. I finally bought my own grinder and ground beans to the correct degree of "fine" - still no luck. I never got a good shot - always watery with no crema. I called the maker and all he suggested was that I use the green band - which I was already doing. So beware - although many reviewers were happy, it doesn't work well in ALL machines - even the ones it is supposed to be compatible with.

It is a high quality, well machined part, and the customer service was good. However, the part does not properly fit within the machine, and the resulting espresso is sub par. It is best to put the $60 toward Nespresso capsules and enjoy them.

You can make great coffee with this, but you have to educate yourself first. When I bought this the first thing I tried was running my drip coffee Folgers through it, and it tasted like crap. I think this is what most people who are having a bad experience are doing.Here is what I've learned:1. You will need a ceramic burr grinder, or access to a ceramic burr grinder. A blade grinder will not be as consistent and may not work well. Drip coffee is a coarse grind, to get good results you need a much finer espresso grind. I grind mine pretty close to a turkish grind and I am happy with the results. I bought the purple tractor manual grinder, it's cheap and effective.2. You need to buy the right beans, I am having success with Lavazza Super Crema.3. Pack the ground beans in pretty tight, but not too tight. You'll have to play with this a little to get it right. Too tight and the water wont flow through well, not tight enough and the coffee will be watery. Try to get it in the middle and you'll be happy.4, You need to use the right volume of water. I have been pouring 25 ml shots, that's the ristretto size. Depending on how you pack it and what beans you are using you could try bigger pours.After doing all that I think my espresso's are better than the nespresso capsules. I usually like my coffee less bitter than most of the nespresso offerings, unless I'm in the mood for it, so for a milder day to day coffee with a subtle but very satisfying flavor I enjoy it more than the nespresso capsules. If you want to match the nespresso flavors you'll have to find the right bean and roast, but you should be able to do it.

I read the reviews on this and I thought I'd give it a chance. I tried it with different amounts of coffee (packed or loose). I used espresso dark roast and espresso grind. The product does not work on my Nespresso U machine. Perhaps it works on other Nespressos, but not mine. Water first comes out clear without passing through the coffee, then I can see that coffee drips, but it's too weak and not the measured amount. As far as crema, very little and with large amounts of bubles on top of the watered down coffee. I would wait longer to buy a Nespresso capsule that is better constructed. Nespresso really does have a secret in making the capsules and not wanting to share it with anyone. I would not buy this product and little confidence that any product will work. I wasted over $50. Allora, premetto che mi sono rivola alle capsule ricaricabili dopo aver visto in un documentario quante capsule usate di alluminio e plastica finiscono nella raccolta differenziata: un vero disastro. Dovrebbero pensarci i produttori, ma se diamo una mano anche noi a limitare i danni forse è meglio.Inoltre si risparmia anche un bel po' di denaro rispetto ai prodotti top di mercato.Purtroppo non esiste ancora la capsula ricaricabile perfetta: la maggior parte richiede un sigillo di alluminio, quindi si perde molto vantaggio dal punto di vista ecologico e salutistico, anche se poi il sapore del caffè non è malvagio e si avvicina all'originale.Questa della mycoffeestar è senz'altro di ottima qualità, ecologica, igienica, ma...finora ho bevuto un caffè tipo quello della moka, buono ma per niente cremoso, lontanissimo dall'espresso del bar.Ora proverò a cambiare il tipo di caffè, probabilmente quello che ho usato finora era macinato troppo grosso.Attenzione poi alla compatibilità con le macchinette, nell'Inissia entra con un certo sforzo ma nella Lattissima One non ci provate proprio (o rischiate di spaccare tutto).Insomma, sono abbastanza delusa, se volevo un caffè lunghetto avevo già la caffettiera tradizionale di acciaio inox, e poi non ho speso poco.Non l'ho restituita perché la tengo di riserva per quando finiscono le capsule confezionate e non ho tempo o voglia di mettere la moka sul fornello.

Seitdem bin ich auf der Suche nach Alternativen. Diese wiederbefüllbare Kaffeekapsel ist nach meiner Erfahrung die beste Alternative, die es derzeit gibt.Die Kapsel ist zweifellos teuer, aber auch äußerst hochwertig gearbeitet und vermutlich "unverwüstlich". Bei Verwendung an Stelle der ebenfalls sehr teuren Wegwerf-Kapseln amortisiert sich der Preis schnell: Auf lange Sicht kann man mit dieser Kapsel einiges an Geld sparen. Außerdem tut man damit nicht nur etwas Gutes für die Umwelt, sondern auch für seine Gesundheit: Es besteht der Verdacht, dass bei Verwendung der Wegwerf-Kapseln sich durch den von der Maschine erzeugten Druck Aluminium-Partikel (bzw. bei Verwendung der Billigalternativen: Kunststoff-Partikel) lösen, die sich bei langem, regelmäßigen Gebrauch im Körper anreichern und problematische Folgen haben können. Der Edelstahl, aus dem diese Kapsel gefertigt ist, ist mit Sicherheit gesundheitlich unbedenklich.Nach Lektüre der kritischen Rezensionen war ich allerdings hinsichtlich der Handhabbarkeit der Kapsel zunächst skeptisch. Trotzdem habe ich den Versuch gewagt -- und bereue es nicht:* Die Kapsel lässt sich mit wenigen Handgriffen befüllen, zuschrauben und in die Maschine einlegen. Nach Gebrauch ist sie auch schnell wieder entnommen und gereinigt (doch Vorsicht: direkt nach dem Brühvorgang ist sie noch ziemlich heiß). Verantwortlich für die gute Handhabbarkeit ist nicht zuletzt die hochwertige Verarbeitung: Das Schraubgewinde, mit dem man den Deckel auf der Kapsel fixiert, ist präzise und stabil gearbeitet; es lässt sich auch durch Reste von Kaffeepulver, die nach dem Befüllen unvermeidlich an der Kapsel und am Gewinde hängenbleiben, nicht irritieren. Zudem ist das Innere der Kapsel ganz glatt, so dass sich das gebrauchte Kaffeepulver leicht und restlos herausspülen lässt.* Ich kann die vielfach berichtete Erfahrung nicht bestätigen, dass die Kapsel nur mit einem ganz bestimmten Mahlgrad des Kaffeepulvers funktioniert. Ich habe alles Mögliche ausprobiert und immer einen trinkbaren Kaffee erhalten. Bei grober Mahlung läuft das Wasser schnell durch, und das Ergebnis ist ziemlich dünn. Bei extra-feinem Mahlgrad läuft das Wasser äußerst langsam, fast tropfenweise durch; das Ergebnis ist ein sehr starker Espresso. Verwendet man Espresso-Pulver mit üblichem Mahlgrad (wie etwa bei dem Espresso-Pulver, das man schon gemahlen kauft), läuft das Wasser "normal", und der Kaffee, den man erhält, entspricht dem, was man erwarten darf. Der Geschmack "stimmt" und steht dem, was man aus den Wegwerf-Kapseln erhält, in nichts nach. (Es sei denn, man verwendet altes, abgestandenes Espresso-Pulver, aber dafür kann die Kapsel dann auch nichts.)* Es stimmt, was ein Rezensent anmerkt: Man verwandelt mit dieser Kapsel die Nespresso-Maschine in etwas ähnliches wie eine Siebträger-Maschine. Allerdings finde ich, dass im Vergleich zu dieser wiederbefüllbaren Kapsel der Umgang mit einem Siebträger im Alltagsgebrauch eines kleines Haushaltes weitaus umständlicher und mit größerem Aufwand an Pflege und Reinigung verbunden ist. (Ich spreche hier aus eigener Erfahrung. Bewusst ist mir allerdings, dass wirkliche Kaffee-Puristen trotzdem einer guten Siebträger-Maschine den Vorzug geben würden. Aber zu dieser Spezies der absoluten Kaffee-Feinschmecker gehöre ich nicht; ich habe es ganz gerne auch ein bisschen praktisch.)Nach meiner Erfahrung kann ich dieses Produkt uneingeschränkt empfehlen.

Il kit è fatto molto bene da un punto di vista meccanico ed "idraulico"(chiusura a vite di precisione, guarnizione in gomma siliconica, finitura della capsula, fori di immissione dell'acqua e fori di uscita della bevanda).Meno bene per le istruzioni che sono scritte in caratteri minuscoli con basso contrasto rispetto allo sfondo (è necessaria la lente di ingrandimento per leggerle comodamente).Con la busta di caffè inclusa nel kit la capsula funziona correttamente ma attenzione che la macinatura deve essere di tipo "Moka" o leggermente più grossa mentre la macinatura di tipo espresso è assolutamente sconsigliata (potrebbe intasare la macchina). l risultati delle mie prove sono i seguenti: sono riuscito ad utilizzare nella capsula delle bustine di te verde deteinato, con ottimo risultato inoltre ho provato anche con buste di camomilla o tisane.Un avvertenza importante: bisogna evitare di toccare la capsula subito dopo l'uso perchè c'è il pericolo di scottarsi. (Come chiaramente segnalato dalle istruzioni!).

nun habe ich schon einige wiederverwendbare Kapseln ausprobiert. Leider gibt`s noch KEINE, die diese "kleinen miesen Umweltsünder" ersetzen kann.Das Material dieser Ersatzkapsel ist stabil. Lässt sich auch gut auf- und wieder zudrehen.Nur kommt nach dem relativ einfachen einsetzen der Kapsel nur heißes Wasser. Beim nochmaligen drücken kommt kurz DÜNNER Kaffee und dann SOFORT wieder heißes Wasser. DAS IST KEIN KAFFEEGENUSS!!!!Leider nur einen Punkt für`s Material. Ansonsten ist das kein empfehlenswertes Produkt.

Die Kapsel ist solide und passt in die Maschine.Das Ergebnis lässt etwas zu wünschen übrig: Es passt deutlich weniger Kaffeepulver hinein, als in einer gekauften Kapsel enthalten ist. Die Crema ist auch deutlich weniger, als bei gekauften Kapseln und das Befüllen ist umständlich, zumindest wenn man das Kaffepulver etwas anpressen möchte.Geschmackstest: Für Espresso ok. Da ich aber gerne Lungo trinke, ist die Menge Kaffepulver nicht ausreichend und der Kaffe schmeckt deutlich weniger kräftig, als bei gekauften Kapseln.(Ich habe sogar den Test gemacht und den Kaffe aus einer gekauften Kapsel in diese hier umgefüllt. Dann einen Lungo mit der Stahlkapsel gemacht und die gleiche Menge mit einer gekauften. Das Ergebnis ist noch nicht wirklich zufriedenstellend).40 Euro finde ich für das Produkt zudem nicht angemessen, da das Kaffeeerlebnis nicht wirklich stimmt.
