40 Micron Whole House Spin Down Sediment Water Filter with Scraper and Water Pressure Gauge, Inline Prefilter for Municipal Tap Water and RV

Seller generously sent me a filter to try because I had asked a question pertaining to why it was listed as Municipal (city) water. The photo's (pre-flush) shows filter condition in operation and two weeks since I performed a flush. I have a very clean well in terms of sediment and clearly I am able to use this filter with a 40 micron screen. The attached picture of the sink show the sediment in a 1 gallon flush. I installed an acid neutralizer and whole house filters didn't have appropriate flow rate in GPM for the neutralizer. I installed two filters - one pre and one post neutralizer. Based on my personal experiences, I can say the filters are well made and a quality product. So don't exclude it's use because its not listed for well water, rather make the determination based on the quality of your well water. This water line filter is well designed to filter sand and iron particles from entering my water softener. My well had high iron content which plugged the water conditioner regularly. Adding this filter has eliminated the problem. You can see the particles collecting in the filter which can be flushed out without taking apart the filter or turning off the water supply. I mounted it in an easy to reach position so I can use a gallon size plastic to collect the flushed out particles. Turning on a valve at the bottom allows the trash to be eliminated into the bottle. I do this regularly. If you wait too long to clean it, the filter will need to be taken apart which requires turning off the water and cleaning the fine screen inside. Overall it is easier to clean this small filter than the water softener.

The media could not be loaded.  I was looking for a sediment filter with backwash ability because of how frequently I've been needing to replace the pre-filter on my whole house system. Unfortunately, our city water seems to be getting worse and worse. ☹️This sediment filter worked perfectly. And I can actually see it sucking the water back out of the pre-filter when backwashing. It works great. I'm very happy with this purchase.

It does a great job as a pre-filter, it removes a lot of stuff that does not need to be clogging up your main filter. The only down side of it is that the wipers that scape the screen do not work all that well and it takes a lot of messing around to get the screen cleaned off decently.

I've used a couple of spindown filters and this one looks like a winner. It's only been online for a week so my opinion may change but so far it looks A+ The pressure gauge is an added bonus.

Very nice quality built, the pressure gauge can be installed so that the inlet can be situated on the left or right with the pressure gauge still facing towards you, easing installation. The filter screen scraper is very convenient, helping to prolong the need to remove the filter body for extra cleaning.

I purchased two of these filters. Both lasted for six months before they started to leak.They both leaked where the pressure gauge is screwed into the filter.I sent numerous emails to the company as the instructions that came with the filters stated to do. All I asked was for two new gauges to be sent to me. I received no response from the company.This product states that it has a year warranty.Does Amazon follow through with companies to ensure that they stand behind their warranties?

Installed this filter post my electric tankless water heater. I was getting a lot of particals from heater that gummed up my fixtures. This filter eliminated that problem.

I like the fact that it can be cleaned without taking it apart

so far seems to work. however the 3/4" to 1" male adapters are rubbish! if you want to use the 3/4" male in and out just buy a set of proper nipples. as the crap they come with have no way to stop the leaking. you can not do a proper fit up with that is supplied.
