Great for "precision" dropping of trees
We live where most of the ash trees are being destroyed by the emerald ash borer. Having started with about 60 ash trees on our property line that are dying one by one, I had a scary moment when one of the trees I was felling did not go where I planned for it to go. Fortunately, it missed the AC unit by a fraction of an inch. Some trees are like that. I now hook three of these straps together (giving me about 90' of play), hook one end high on the tree to be felled and the other end to the ball hitch on the rear of my SUV. When the tree is almost ready to drop, I have the neighbor give gentle pulling pressure with the SUV while I make the final cut on the back side. This has worked fantastic every time. The straps are beefy enough to hold up to this tension and easy enough to link together. Wish I had these a few months earlier when I dropped that one errant tree.

Necessary Gear
Seems to be of good quality. It comes in a bag, with a keeper strap, to keep it 'rolled' when not in use. Added to my existing extraction straps for either a winch extension, or a longer tree strap. It can and will also be used with a clevis and snatch block, for bi-directional pulling. My opinion is," Always use a larger safety margin" than the minimum.A 2X safety margin always is better than the minimum 1.5X except when dealing with ATVs and UTVs. When using with full-size rigs (pickup trucks) this extra safety margin makes for a better 'PEACE OF MIND' during recovery.

Read my description
So, I've had this tow rope for a little under 2 years now....Took it on countless wheeling trips...Rieter pit... Elby.... Evans Creek... Skykomish.....And throughout the harsh PNW conditions.... Hot sun dryness and freezing in ice...Never has it ripped, tore, discolored, frayed, or even scratched the rope....Not even a tree or winch could break it...Amazing for how dirt cheap this rope is......One of the most reliable tow straps I have ever used.....

They are super soft and easily torn on objects
Used them once. They are super soft and easily torn on objects. Obviously, ideally you keep them from catching on anything, but in the real world chit happens, and mine has holes in them after one use...Update: used them a second time to pull out a 1000lb ztr... stitching ripped out where the loop is sewn. These things are pure junk.

Quality
This is made of quality material, very well made. I got pulled out of an a ditch while duck hunting in delta country in Arkansas & the guy laughed at my 8000lb store bought strap (thought I was prepared). He pulled out an actual fire hose and that did the trick. Got home & made da#@ sure I wasnt under-strapped again, placed this order. As soon as I opened the box I knew I ordered the right product.
